La Posada de Bucerias

The location. Needs some serious TLC and updates. While rustic Mexican can be very charming and we actually prefer it over the “modern” look, this place had broken and dilapidated things at every turn. There was no staff at the front counter after checkout to answer questions, offer recommendations, or address concerns. Our credit card had already been charged for the full amount before we even arrived, not a hold as is usual. I actually forgot this place even had a pool, we were never given instructions for where to find the pool upon check-in, only given our keys and told that our room was upstairs. My husband had to spend 15 minutes standing on a chair trying to fix the roll-up blind that was stuck up so we could have any privacy, (the neighbor’s window was directly across only a couple feet away). The shower sprayed everywhere except where you needed. The mattress was very firm, which would probably be fine if you’re exclusively a back sleeper, but for anyone else was very uncomfortable. I do not understand how this place could ever be considered “excellent” as the rating on Booking suggests. It was fine at best. Would not stay here again, nor recommend.

Hotel was largely unoccupied when we arrived. You will need to call them if you arrive outside of 9 to 5. Staff were friendly. Room doors were metal keyed, doors were of light construction with no deadbolt. Still there were several layers of security including front gate and front door. Location is excellent (5 minute walk to the beach), although there isn’t a great deal to do in Bucerias other than enjoy the beach and water. Pool at the hotel was underwhelming. It is certainly not the blue colour shown in the pictures. Kitchen was well appointed with gas stove. The bed was larger than king size in our room but the mattress was quite hard. The hotel is not accessible to anyone mobility impaired — I would add that most of Mexico isn’t. Overall nice place to stay a week. Important note is that there is a ‘for sale’ sign outside the establishment.

It was so quaint and beautiful and safe and close to everything I would definitely recommend this place..and I'd book for a month stay if I could I liked everything.

Loved the property itself. It’s absolutely beautiful as is the pool. Also, the property manager was so responsive with any questions and even booked some transit for us.

The property was clean with gorgeous plants everywhere . The Posada was so impressive I felt like I was in another era. It is within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. The many other surrounding properties left the pool mostly in the shade

We stayed in the Palapa. It was so much fun and we had a private rooftop patio ! Nothing

Great location. Easy walking to all the great Bucerias spots. It was quiet in the evening. The pool was fantastic. Staff was accommodating and helpful.

Very friendly staff and long stay guests. Close to many restaurants and a straight 2 block walk to the quiet end of the beach. Our room didn't really have an opening window, a pretty stained glass window, but I was hoping for a balcony or something.

location is good Says coffee in room but does not supply coffee, just a pot. AC was very loud in our room. No safe in the room.

unique property well situated in town near beach. run down and in desperate need of updates. bathroom especially had no counter space inside shower for soap or outside for toiletries and no hooks to hang towels to dry . the linens were also in need of renewal. the pool was small but situated where it doesn’t get much sun around the deck . getting in and out of the property required three different doors thus three different keys , very inconvenient . No one at desk at checkout and no drop box for keys so had to hide keys in a planter and leave a note online when we left .
