A clean comfortable room. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast and good restaurant.
-
The food in the restaurant was exceptional - both the a la carte menu and the fixed price options. The staff are friendly and genuinely helpful, giving recommendations for local hiking trails and other activities. The hotel location and the town of Butgenbach are wonderful places. There was nothing to dislike - we were unable to eat in the restaurant on the last (Sunday) night because we hadn't made a reservation earlier - but this is understandable with very few staff and there are many other restaurants and bars within an easy walk.

The team in both reception and restaurant have been very helpful. The room seemed small and even a bit tired. But it is practically designed. We had a sleep of a year, the bed was comfortable, the air was fresh and the room was quiet. The bathroon is newly renovated. All clean. The room and common areas (staircase, elevator,...) feel outdated and tired.

Great hotel with excellent restaurant. Quiet area.

Staff at the restaurant seemed a bit overwhelmed by their work.

Friendly, welcoming, English speaking staff. Parking was free and easily available. Breakfast had enough choices You will hear the other guests in the hotel (squeaking floors)

Well run and attractive place offering good value and a decent breakfast. Good beer and the manager was delightful and professional. Nothing of note.

Staff was friendly and could for example find us a table in the attached restaurant. Regarding the inside, a bit old fashioned but clean. Based on location, we were hoping to be able to see the lake, but high trees are blocking the sight. Also, the area is not the best to get closer to the lake and you need to do some walk to get there, but this is valid for all hotels in the area I would guess.

Bar is located on the first floor and joins the outdoor dining area, which is limited in size and reserved for guests eating and not just taking some refreshment. the breakfast area is adequate and the choice of food covers most tastes. Rooms are generous in size, beds are comfortable and reasonably modern. Staff attitude was poor and generally unhelpful. English is not well spoken, or understood. The restaurant has a hard stop at 9.00 pm, even though serving continues until 10.30 pm. The capacity is limited, so booking is essential.
