Brilliant stay in wonderful Hartington. Easy parking, friendly welcome, large room with sitting area, coffee making facilities, excellent large power shower and really good restaurant area. Although the hotel did not do breakfasts the cafe right next door did a marvellous full English with 10% off for residents.

We booked two rooms. They were both above our level of expectation. Great decor, lots of extra touches and very comfortable and clean.. The host and his Mum were very helpful and friendly and the food was very good. It would have been great if they had done breakfast, but maybe in the future? They directed us to the Farm Shop 3 mins away, or the cafe next door. We had an excellent breakfast at the farm shop.

Liked the location, room decor, friendly staff, food, fresh milk for T&C and the convenient free parking. Disliked the thin walls that meant noises carried from the adjoining rooms, the room wasn’t very clean and there were no pillow protectors on the pillows. (One had a giant tea stain on the end.)

Absolutely gorgeous little pub, set in the most beautiful of tiny villages. Amazing rooms, lovely bar area and cosy little restaurant.

Staff were lovely, very attentive and friendly. Amazing meal in the restaurant and was good value food and drinks. Beautifully styled bedroom, with all amenities. Comfy bed and pillows. Location was perfect, has lovely walks from the village and fantastic farm shop cafe down the road. Would stay again. Nothing we didn't like as such only suggestions for improving what is there. The room whilst beautiful were looking a little tired and needed a deep clean of cobwebs and mildew, but this did not effect our pleasurable stay at all. Hairdryer was one of those hotel ones with a short spiral lead that made it really hard to dry my hair as I had to sit close to the socket to use it.

We were upgraded to a suite, very comfortable bed, good hot shower. Tasty food and very nice staff. Quiet. TV was a bit small and far away from bed, bathroom could have been a bit cleaner, marks on walls, mirror and sink.
