HI Calgary City Center is located in East Village, right around the corner from downtown. HI Calgary offers free breakfast. Free coffee and tea is provided all day as well. The City Hall transit stop is 2 minutes away and offers free transport within the city center. Free WIFI is included. Please note that anyone is welcome to stay with a valid ID from outside of Calgary. Shared bathrooms facilities are provided for dormitory guests. A 40" flat-screen cable TV, a desk and an private bathroom are offered in the private guest rooms. A billiards table, 60” flat-screen TV and BBQ facilities are available to guests of HI Calgary City Center. Laundry facilities and 24-hour reception are also offered on site. Guests can relax in the reading room. A guest kitchen offers added guest convenience. Studio Bell and Central Library are a 3 minutes' walk from the property. Calgary Stampede is 10 minutes’ from the property, while the US Consulate is 5 minutes' walk away. If you have booked with us during the Calgary Stampede (July 2-12, 2026), full payment is required at the time of booking. All reservations are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Cancelations or changes are not permitted for any reason. This includes adjustments to dates, length of stay, room type, or guest names. The individual who made the reservation must be 18 years or older and be present at check-in. No-shows will result in full reservation cancellation. Any remaining nights must be rebooked and paid for again.

Good location, friendly staff, clean facility. Time of breakfast only 8am-9am. It will be good it can be 7am-9am, which is offered in another facility. I couldn't make time to have breakfast when I was there because my group meeting time was 8am.

lovely staff, very helpful and great breakfast. Room lovely and clean. well located too Being honest there are a few undesirables hanging round nearby, however these poor souls have obvious addiction problems and presented no problem. Was not even asked for any money

It was right downtown Calgary,although the street people are there it’s so monitored, the hostel and the grounds were monitored, the market along the river was pretty cool, the restaurants and people mingling down there were very friendly ,I’m from up north,was there for a weekend and honestly would love to go again Did you read the review? Loved it

I think this is the best hostel I’ve been to, ever!.. yes it is basic, but it exceeded our expectations.. looks quite nice actually.. we had booked a double room with private bathroom and it was perfect, cheap compared to many others, central and very close to the public library which I recommend to visit cause it’s probably the nicest thing to see in this city ahahah.. it had everything we needed.. yes, we were in a basement but still.. there were common rooms to do the laundry.. watch tv and just hang around and rest.. a room upstairs too with kitchen and tables.. staff was helpful, friendly and welcoming. They have space to store your luggage for free if you’ve got a late or early flight.. it was great for our last night before flying back home.. I definitely recommend if you don’t want to spend too much..
