Hotel Country Club

The hotel is exactly what we were looking for for a short family weekend trip to Italy from Germany with a limited budget, not too far from Germany, arriving late by car and with good sea beaches accessible within a half an hour drive or so. Decisive was, that the hotel had a 24/7 reception desk, so we could arrive at 1:00 a.m. or later no problem. The rest was fine, as well - not to a very high standard, but this time we were looking exactly for value for money and that's what we got above expectation. Especially great was the staff. Very attentive and helpful. We had an issue with our last breakfast and the hotel staff performed above expectation. And we were always getting friendly and helpful responses to our messages through Booking.com. Thank you once again! Other than that: easy to find, good parking, clean, all the needed in the room, big balcony-terrace, free bottles of water, working WiFi and AC, good breakfast and a highlight: an electric charging station at the parking lot accepting DKV. We didn't use the swimming pool, as we went to the sea near Pisa (some 40 min car drive, very good beaches), but it looked fine with plenty of room, chairs, etc. around. A very beautiful town of Lucca was just 15-20 min drive, with a big old town, plenty of restaurants and shops and some special walking trails. It was a bit noisy at nights because of the nearby road, but it wasn't a highway with heavy traffic - just a relatively busy country road. In this sense windows could have been a bit more noise cancelling. But we just live in a very quiet place most of the time, so one might not notice it even.

The pool and outdoor areas and the hotel lobby. Also the electric car charger. The Air conditioning was often turned off especially in the daytime. Breakfast could have been a little more variety and a little different each day perhaps some American plates like pancakes, waffles, french toast.

We reserved a classic double room and we got a bedroom, a small living room and a huge balcony with a very nice view! The restaurant is also very good. The swimming pool was a sad sight, all dirty with plants growing inside. True, it was not summer yet and the day we left they were beginning to clean the area around the pool, but still... it would be better to cover the pool during the winter, no?

Diet food was organized for breakfast. The photos do not reflect the condition of the hotel. We didn't get the room for which we got the reservation confirmation.

First, do not be fooled by the photos in Booking's advertisement. The property appears to be of high standards, "Country Club". Well, the standard is very low !! The real size of the pool is a third compared to showed on the photo, the hotel is very close to the main road. Of course the pool was closed due to recent rain. The room's dark color and standard looked like some hotel from the Soviet during the 1960's. The view from the room showed a terrible wearn down industrial area. The hallways were dirty and worn and this in addition to the impression from the room made us decide that we could not stay. We lost 97 euro. The reception lady was very nice , but of course, because of Booking's rules she could not refund anything. This hotel is a 2 stars hotel, not a 3 or 4 stars level. If you use BOOKING. COM, hotels can offer any low quality and come free from all responsibility. They refund NOTHING, with Booking's system and blessing. We stayed 7 days in Italy, we had to abandon 2 hotels of this same reason, incompetence !! We lost around 90 to 100 euro for each "hotel" And, Booking, you are partly responsible ! This is the last time with you Booking, we have rented several 100 hotel beds through you during the last 15 years. You together with hotels like this should refund your clients, but of course you will not !!

Amazing location 10 minutes away from Lucca, the renovated rooms are really comfortable and the staff is lovely.

The food was absolutely fantastic. The biggest fillet steak I've ever had. Also the 4 course set meal was excellent value for money. There was a big selection for breakfast also. All the staff were really helpful & friendly. Great customer service with a smile. Bus stop right outside to get to Lucca. Also the large pool was lovely. The mattress was really quite hard

The bed was extremely hard.

The B&B was clean and the personel was helpful. We booked this B&B due to the swimming pool. We arrived at 19.45, the swimming pool works between 9-19.00, even it was so hot we couldn't swim after a long journey. In France the pools close at 21.00 in summer for certain reasons. Our rooms were hot, previously they were balconies or something similar in this old structure, not really nice.

Yes, indeed. They offer Indian breakfast as a second option, along with two large swimming pools and a lovely garden. The food was excellent, with gluten-free options available as well.

Breakfast was lovely and a big selection of food and drink 7am til 10am. The cappucinos were nice too.

Was a nice place by the road for a night sleep. People were great, really helpful and nice, rooms very clean, free parking and great breakfast. Not that it’s bad, but some improvements to the low level rooms, new furniture and painting job would be really nice. The decoration It’s a bit outdated.
