The owners were nice and helpful. It is on Via Francigena route. We searched a bit, it is wrongly marked on mapy.cz, on google maps it is correct. We didn't get a key to the room, which felt a little weird. Common areas and bathroom were quite dirty.

The staff were great really helpful and friendly. There was a great atmosphere in the bar when I arrived, a good mix of locals and travellers The shower wasn't great although everywhere was very clean

Relatively close to big supermarkets. Easy to checkin and out. Unfortunately the hostel has no kitchen to cook by ourselves. Quiet dirty floor.

There was a rock concert so didn't get to sleep til 12 but other than that was a standard hostel

Nothing! The place was completely abandoned! I arrived on Sunday night and left on Thursday morning. I only saw the staff on Sunday (because they were having a party at the hostel) and punctually on Monday and Tuesday. I didn't see anyone on the other days! Speaking of the party, people were using the same bathrooms as the guests and it was filthy. Furthermore, as you can see in the photos, the toilet flush was broken, there was only hand soap in 1 of the 3 bathrooms, the shower stalls were greasy and apparently hadn't been cleaned in months. In the common area on the second floor, there was a dirty fork on the table, dirty food papers on the table and the table was filthy. The room wasn't clean when I arrived and it remained that way until I left. Contrary to the description here on booking.com, the hostel didn't have a restaurant open during the period I stayed, no coffee machine, toaster, kitchen utensils, bike rental or any of the other activities listed, the TV didn't pick up any channels, there was no individual locker to put your luggage in, anyway, I think you can understand how terrible the place is. I just don't give it a zero because there's no way. If I could give you one tip, it would be to stay far away from this hostel.

Friendly staff, with a great atmosphere and really chilled out study area/common area on the top floor. Organised music on a weekend, too. Near plenty of cafes and amenities I wouldn't change anything about it!

Capannori is a very beautiful area, not too far from Lucca. Ostello La Salana is very affordable, the property of the hostel is large and the building well facilitated for a hostel, but it is not properly sustained by the owners of the hostel. When I was to check out I asked if it would be okay for me to eat breakfast at the hostel, even though I was late for the check out, in which the owner was kind to say yes. I made a booking for five days, and after making the booking I made a request to arrive a day later, which was declined. I received a message that the check in was open until 23:00 and arrived 22:50, but there was no one at the reception and the hostel was closed. They did not answer the phone when I called them, but luckily there was a nice person staying at the hostel who let me in. I stayed there for five days and during the five days I stayed there they did not clean the rooms or even the bathrooms. They did not make the beds for the persons checking out either.
