Very cozy, well-managed and friendly place, just a short walk away from some of the most scenic places (the waterfront, the Malay neighborhood...). The breakfast was abundant and delicious (not buffet style, but cooked individually). They'll ask you at what time you are going roaming, and prepare accordingly. The decor is incredible. There's a free coffee and tea station during the day. Mind you, it's a building from when spaces were smaller, maybe not the best for someone used to spacious hotel rooms. But if you are traveling on your own, it's a welcome break from the impersonal feel of corporate hotels, you'll feel you are around actual people. =)

I did not like at all No one at the desk - never. You should include that there is no one at the hotel

The property was beautiful. Staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. They helped with our bags, accommodated our dietary restrictions, and offered a late checkout. Breakfast was delicious! Very good value as well. I would come back in the future and recommend to friends visiting Cape Town. N/A

Staff were so kind and welcoming! Best breakfast of my entire trip. Design aesthetic of this cozy stay is unique and playful.

This is a truly unique property managed by an outstanding team. Russell and the rest of the staff make you feel at home, taking care of you the entire time Nothing, all positive

Fabulous owner and staff. Delicious breakfast. Very clean and great location No a/c in single room
-
Perfect location close to everything, absolutely delicious breakfast, charming property. Hosts were so friendly and helpful - they had great recommendations for everything. They also arranged our airport pickup with their driver. This is a boutique hotel in a vintage home so be prepared that not everything is super modern, such as the bath fixtures.

This hotel is an old victorian house in the heart of Cape Town. I stayed here three nights and I became attached to its charm more and more every day. My room was small but all in pink (I love pink!) and made me feel at home. I could relax in the lounge downstairs listening to jazz music and the cookies they baked every day. There was tea/coffee service at the second floor free 24/7. Russell prepared a beautiful breakfast with much care. Different varieties day by day, I would never doubt to come back to this place next time I am in Cape Town. I had a difficulty to open the door lock a couple of times but not a big issue.

Absolutely wonderful bed & breakfast -- The care and attention given to the smallest detail from arrival to departure is appreciated. Allen and his crew did an a excellent job and I'm going to miss this charming place (and the Michelin-tier breakfasts!!). N/a, everything was perfect!!

We loved our stay at Hotel Lola. The rooms are all beautifully decorated and the location was great. We especially enjoyed Russell's amazing breakfasts and appreciated being given recommendations for our first time visiting Cape town! We would definitely stay again!

I can't say enough about this place or the wonderful guys who run it. From the first time I visited (April, 2024), I was made to feel like a part of a family. I was greeted at the door and assisted with my luggage (as minimal as it was) up to my room. Russell and Allen LOVE what they do, and it shows in so many ways. You're not staying at a fancy Hilton hotel. It's more like you're staying at you're best friend's house or the place in the country that you always look forward to getting away to. It's the little touches that make all the difference. I could go on and on, but the crème de la crème of your stay is the breakfast that you recieve in the morning to start your day. It is beyond compare. Fresh squeezed juices with the pulp, your selection of whatever type of coffee beverage that you desire, and a delicious yogurt fruit salad made that morning topped with Allen's homemade granola. That is just for starters. You then receive the main course, which changes daily. Russell is an amazing chef. As I mentioned before, these guys LOVE what they do and they want you to have the best stay possible in Cape Town. They are more than happy to tell you not only where to go, but the best way to get there. I left there yesterday and I'm already looking forward to traveling around the globe from Seattle to spend more time at their place. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I pretty much ate all the fresh baked cookies they left out every day......... The fact that I don't spend a week or more staying here......

Russell and Alan are amazing hosts. The location was even better than I expected and within very easy walking distance of the V and A waterfront area. As a solo traveler, I felt very safe walking around. Russell was especially helpful in recommending restaurants, making a dinner reservation at Riva restaurant and providing helpful tips. The breakfast were beyond exceptional. The hotel room was small, but very comfortable and met my needs.. There are also common areas and outdoor seating that I loved. Loved it

Fun and quirky hotel with a great breakfast in central location!

The hotel has a distinctive pleasant character; retro/vintage style, and it gives a real homey feeling. But the real deal is Russel -the proprietor- and his gang, Russell is probably the most hospitable person I have ever seen throughout my extensive travel life, he goes the extra mile to make the guest feel like family, not just a friend. Secondary to that, the location is brilliant. Absolutely commendable, should be tried by everyone traveling to Cape Town. Nothing

Breakfast was the most special we've ever enjoyed. It was like having a meal in a royal palace with lovely china, classic, vintage pressed linens including napkins for our laps and napkins wrapped around the delicious, seeded toast to keep it warm. We were served graciously and elegantly with delicacies brought in on a tray. We stayed four nights and every breakfast was a gourmet work of art. The starter of yogurt, chopped fresh fruit, and granola slabs set the stage. The eggs and potatoes were served piping hot and creatively presented with the perfect balance of flavor and color. There was fresh grapefruit and orange juices pressed from the fruits of Russell's and Alan's farm. Homemade jams included lime marmelade and grapefruit marmelade. It was all exquisite, including piping hot cappuchino. We stayed in the luxury king suite with the private balcony, where we often enjoyed glasses of Cape Town wine and take-out pizza. Supplying glasses and cutlery were only some of the extras that Hotel Lola provided for us. There was always someone to help or guide us. We enjoyed bathing in the sumptious big tub and sleeping on the most comfortable mattress. There is so much to experience and look at in this delightfully eclectic, vintage, and artfully furnished guest house. Communications with Russell were always prompt, kind, and informational. It is walking distance to the colorful BoKaap neighborhood, Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, Company Garden, and Greenmarket Square. Service is apparent in all ways. We sing high praises of our time at Hotel Lola! Only one tiny thing: the very vintage desk chair.

I liked everything from this place. The friendliness, kindness, service of staff and especially of Russell. Super clean, the building where the hotel is, it’s around 200 years old, but very well maintained, decoration is super nice, beautiful furnitures and even plates use for breakfast makes you feel that you are in another era. Super warm and cozy, and as I am a world traveler I strongly RECOMMEND this place. Location the best, everything is so close by, high security and above ALL which I will never forget is the breakfast. Delicious, tasting, healthy. THANK YOU FOR THE WONDERFUL STAY. Definitely I will come back to South Africa and Cape Town and this is going to be my ONLY choice ❣️ NOT APPLICABLE

It was a fun place with a comfortable bed and great hosts. The breakfasts were exceptional A standing shower would have been convenient, but the tub with a hand shower worked fine and fit the decor

Staying at Hotel Lola is like staying a good friend’s house. It’s a comfortable home that is welcoming and full of charm
