Beautiful colonial hotel

We stayed at The Winchester Boutique Hotel for three nights as a couple and absolutely loved it. Our room was excellent

I was there for the Cape Town marathon, and even though the website said there would be a special pre race menu for runners, there wasn't. At the last minute I had to pivot and try to find a nearby restaurant. The front desk recommended a place but wouldn't make a reservation for me (stating they didn't take reservations and I'd have no problem getting in) This was NOT the case the night before the marathon with everyone wanting a pasta dinner!

I didn't care for the terrible pillows. They were so hard and hurt my neck. Both my friend and I struggled immensely with the pillows. I also didn't like the weird cupboard space. There's a tiny tiny closet in the hall. So if you are staying more than a couple of nights that would be problematic. I also didn't like the noise in the evenings. It traveled up the building, so you could only get to sleep by 11 pm. I'm not sure if it's noisy all nights or just on the weekends. In the morning people go down early for breakfast in the courtyard and once again the noise travels up and it's very loud. All in all it's a good little stay but the pillows and noise made it difficult to get good sleep. I wouldn't recommend it for light sleepers or people looking for a restful and quiet hotel.

We LOVED this hotel! It’s gorgeous and the staff is welcoming and so helpful. The rooms are very large and comfortable. The interior courtyard and pool are beautiful but unfortunately it rained the whole time we were there so we didn’t get to use either. Still, breakfast inside with a view of the ocean was awesome. The food included with breakfast was delicious, as were the coffee drinks (the dirty chais were our favorite). There were some nice restaurants within walking distance, although most of the tourist areas were a bit further—easy to reach using the shuttle or very cheap Ubers. When my phone and wallet were stolen (in a very different area far from the hotel), the staff was so incredibly helpful with helping us contact credit card companies, etc. and even offering to drive me to the police station. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The location, the views, the staff and the courtyard were great. The only negative is that we did not stay longer. We also made use of the spa facilities and not could recommend the entire stay enough. The WiFi was not great. It was down for a few hours.

Pool area is a little small. The breakfast situation is a little confusing. Signing for breakfast some things included other things are chargable.

The location was perfect and safe with very good view to the sea point promenade! The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food was also outstanding! Maybe because we stay during peak time the price value are a-bit high for our pocket but pretty worth-it!

The breakfast was great, and the hotel was pretty and comfortable. 1. False advertising in the photos. The pool doesn't have a mountain backdrop, nor is it on the water 2. Apparently, I contracted Norovirus, and I told one of the managers that I thought I had gotten food poisoning, and literally, he just shrugged. No, I’m sorry, no, “Can I get you something for the diarrhea?”, and no mention that Norovirus is prevalent in Cape Town. 3. The location is not that great.
