Carlsbad By The Sea Hotel

Newly renovated rooms were nice and comfortable. Other updates were happening around the property but it did not impact our experience. The staff was great and the location was excellent. Will definitely stay again.

We traveled with elderly, adults and children.

Outdoor pool and dirty due to construction

They gave me the wrong room. They also gave me a room that was dirty and dirty sheets. Dirty restrooms room. Bad remodel

Site in good location, noisy with kids/teens being loud at pool. Doing renovation work, charged amenity fees but only amenity they said was parking. Nothing else available. Parking lot was being asphalted so we had to park really far from room.

Hand soap was not there in the room. Floor was not clean.

Office staff during check-in had no corrective measure only that the hotel was overbooked & the hotel manager gave away my room & this is all that they had left. I followed up first thing in the morning with the new office staff. After stating everything mentioned above they had no comment and no correction. I then canceled the remainder of my stay & requested complete reimbursement for my trouble which I was denied. I requested paperwork to show charges & cancellation, in which, I was denied the paperwork by the hotel staff. I requested , a 2nd time, for any form of paperwork stating what my charges are and to show that I am no longer staying at the hotel & again I was denied. My family & I were very upset at the total lack of hospitality being provided.

Pool was clean. Didn’t enjoy the pool because we went to the water park in legoland.

We have a bad experience on our vacations, the hotel was under construction and they never said nothing about that, the rooms wasn’t clean and the house keeping service was poor. After that the staff try to help all the time and the location is excellent.

Our stay was great! Clean rooms, helpful staff and the convenience of having a food hall and an outlet mall walking distance was such a plus! Our only issue was water temperature, once the water got hot it would not cool down even when put on the coldest setting.

Lack of communication on construction also the latches locked us out of room also there were cockroach’s .The hot tub wasn’t working . But everyone was very nice rooms were nice . We would stay again just want the other things to be addressed .

This place is a must stay if one is coming to SD, walking distance to The Outlets, Numerous restaurants. The staff was great and the amenities such as the pool and the enormous cheess board, Also, beach, Legoland, and the SD fair minutes away by automobile

The hot tub is not working they did not tell us was the gonna have construction when in the front of our room they are to loud I came back late I can’t sleep because of the construction in the front of our room when I wake up there a note of my car they gonna tow my car if I don’t move the service is terrible they put me in her side of the building when I go there my room key is not working I call them they did answer the phone i leave the message still no one responded so I have to walk back get different key when I check out I mentioned to them how I feel that you guys did not mention that you guys gonna have construction in front of our room then if my wife did not anything in our car we don’t khow that you guys gonna tow my car according to the note the guys no one tow your car so what the problem this experience so to pay 200 something per night plus parking and this is how they treat the guest

great place thats close to legoland , cons the rooms acs are limited to 70• had to open door cuz room felt stuffy after kids took warm shower . tv noise level set to low also cant hear tv over the shower , even the mini fridge felt as if it was not cold enough, as far as the rest 👍 clean room and nice view with balcony to sit out and enjoy the fresh air

Phone didn't work in room, Would go back if in Carlsbad.

Property is under a major renovation. Lots of construction noise during the day and clutter detracts from the ambiance.

Great hotel & staff.

Clean room and staff responded promptly to request.
