Antiche Volte

We had a wonderful six night stay in Antiche Volte in Catania. The accommodation was great. Our room was very large within an equally big bathroom and it was very clean. The overall guest house is quite small so there was not too many other visitors around and that made it feel very homely. The breakfast was just perfect and we were looked after incredibly well by Oanna who gave us lots of tips about Catania and other places to visit in the area and also about how to get around easily on public transport. Indeed, the actual centre of the city is an easy 20 minutes walk away so we only used the public transport for travelling out of town. There were lots of sites to see in the city and plenty of bars and restaurants. Trips to Taormina and Syracuse were also fantastic. We would definitely recommend Antiche Volte for your stay in Catania. We didn't like Google Maps route to get to the city centre... Our tip would be to follow Oanna's route... way nicer.

The room was quite large for the cost, with a large double and a single bed. The self check-in process was considerably simpler than the last property I stayed at in Catania, and there was a receptionist on premise in the mornings to provide assistance and suggestions. The location can be quite noisy seeing as the rooms front onto a main road. The shower in my room was a little on the small side, but adequate.

The accommodation looked like the photos. Very nice with high ceilings and the manger was very helpful and pleasant. The room and bathroom were spacious. Only stayed 1 night and left before breakfast, so I can't say what it was like.

Delicious breakfast; convenient location; friendly staff; it's beautifully decorated and very clean; we really enjoyed the stay.

Good location, just several blocks from the train station and the bus terminal. Neighborhood feels safe. Easy self check-in if you arrive late at night. Sephora was very nice and caring, The room and the bathroom were spacious and very clean. Beautiful breakfast lounge , though not much food provided in it, just nice hand painted tableware ? For the first two days of our stay there was hardly any breakfast provided. We got tons of apologies, but practically no food, not even bread on the second day. Coffee was good though. The situation somewhat improved later, but still food was scarce, no choice of anything , we felt like it was rationed. I would recommend, if possible, to book a stay without breakfast and just go one to a nearby cafés, plenty of them in Catania and the choice is awesome!

The BB Is located in old building completely renovated. Room was quite big with private wc/shower and clean. It Is possible to book a parking inside and it Is near to the centrale via Etnea and to restaurants and night Life, Staff extremely kind Nothing, maybe just some mosquito in the room:-)
