For the price, the hotel is extremely good. You could blame the breakfast or bed. But for the budget price i had to pay, Gresi gave me very good value. There was everything i needed. Location is excellent. The only complaint is about electrical outlets, there are not enough. I had to choose if i want to use the fridge or TV. I chose the fridge.

The rooms are large, bathrooms are renovated with great shower. I found the bed quite comfortable. My room had an amazing painted ceiling and they’re throughout the hotel. Very friendly staff. The entrance at street level is a bit of a shock. It looks very rundown but once you get up the elevator to the hotel the reception is OK and the rooms are excellent.

Good central location Opening the door the first time. It was like solving a Chinese puzzle. The elevator was very small. I almost lost 200 Euros from the non-existing wire fi. Always bad, even with the help of a rude desk clerk. I was bitten multiple times by mosquitos. Breakfast(small assortment)was a roll and coffee. The safe was almost impossible to work without a flashlight.

The classic style of the hotel and it's location make it an especially Sicilian experience.

Besides being an old, unrenovated hotel, it is in a very good city center location. Within 10 minutes of walking, you reach the main city square, and the pickup points for excursions are around 20 minutes away, including the central train station. There are lots of restaurants and shops on nearby streets. The staff is nice. The rooms are pretty tidy; they were clean enough for an old hotel like this. There is an A/C, so it is not cold even at this time of year. The main guests of hotel seemed to be older local Italian people which might be used to these conditions. I got bitten by a mosquito, and I am not sure if it was also a flea. I got 5 small bites on my ankle in a row, even though it seemed tidy and clean. Mosquitos were annoying. The breakfast is only simple tea/coffee, white bread and cheese with cut sausage. Still enough for breakfast, so nothing to complain really about, but if you want a Swedish table, there's way not that. Really, if there were no bite mark on my ankle, I would give myself 6-7 of 10, but now I have a lot of stress and take special precautions not to take the fleas to my home, which is disappointing.

Authentic hotel in good condition with a beautiful ceiling in the room. Very friendly staff. Located right in the city center, but without any noise inside the hotel. Good neighborhood. Comfortable beds and a clean room. Everything works; nothing is in disrepair. got a safety warning when trying to use the wifi. Nothing else.

I really liked the service and the fact that they do have a 24h desk despite the front door being closed (just had to ring the bell and I was talking to Pasqualino =] ) The location is very central and it was easily reachable by a taxi from the airport. Staff is super gentle and caring and they are nice hosts! Recommended for people who wish to have a quick stay at an affordable price! The bed in the room I was, was a bit stiff and the pillows a bit too low for my preference. The bathroom had a small window that did not allow proper ventilation in my opinion, but keeping the door open to the room helped a lot.

Wasn't able to get hot water in the shower.

    2. Location is straightforward 3. Room was small but clean. The hospitality of staff is not good and professional. Also, I had to hand over the key every time I left the hotel. And the hotel door was always locked, and you had to ring the bell to get it opened. This meant I had no privacy.

The hotel is very charismatic, clean, and practical in an excellent location. The staff is super friendly Pascualino went above and beyond providing guidance and recommendations for restaurants and places to see. Will definitely stay again. Everything was great.

Hotel is difficult to navigate, a couple of times I was flummoxed on how to access the elevator. The most annoying thing though was the breakfast in the morning. I go down to the breakfast area and the staff ushered me into an almost full room where the food was. I sit at a table and grab some food, a gentleman comes around for coffee orders and i ask for a cappuccino. Then a party of 4 walks into the room, looking around confused as there were no empty tables. Because I was alone I excused myself and gave them the table, moving to one of the tiny bistro tables in reception. Where I was completely ignored by the waiter and the man working the espresso machine. I was 5 feet away and they never even looked at me the entire time I was eating. I asked again but I never got my cappuccino.

Location Breakfast was fantastic Cappuccino was great It was only a few minute walk to the Domo and tons of restaurants all around the outside The staff was great too Love the warm croissant Seems to be a mix up on the tourist tax Bookings receipt showed it in the rate I paid but hotel said it was not paid. I think we ended up paying an extra 8 euro because of language barriers

Great location, clean room. Nice and friendly staff/owners, really helpful and responsive. Thank you! Really poor Wi-Fi connection — almost none. A limited variety of food served at breakfast.

  • Engine customer Aug 2025

A classic old hotel in an excellent and interesting location. Clean and spacious room with good wifi. Good value for a short break. Breakfast was only adequate. Flimsy plastic glasses for juice and plastic covering the tablecloths! The staff were not effusive and spoke no English which was surprising as we made an effort with our smattering of Italian.
