Elephant's Smile B&B

This was the perfect place to land after a long travel. I would recommend to anyone passing through Catania! I loved how classic Italian the architecture was and the little balcony I could see life happening from. The location is perfect to catch the train or bus to your next destination. The room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The whole building was amazing to see! There was nothing I didn’t like

Loved the character of the room and b&b! Walking distance to Duomo and V. Emanuele, bus station and train station just 5min walk. Great for day trips! Several good eating places. Cleaned room every day. Just across the plaza was an awesome gelateria and pastry bar! Also Alibus stop was minutes away which made it very convenient!! Everything was good. Maybe reinforce quiet time after 10 pm -7 am as some of the guests were noisy past midnight BUT no fault of the host.

The only reason I gave them a lower score was because there was a rain storm the night before and it caused electrical problems in the B&B and I was not able to stay and I found out about five minutes before I was supposed to check in. I don’t fault the owners of the property. It is what it is, but I couldn’t give it a really good review because I never stayed there

The property was nice and convenient for spending a day in Catania before going to the airport. The hotel is near the water and across from several great restaurants and cafés. Overall, it is quiet and a nice place to stay. I had several troubles with the keys and getting into the day along with locking the door. Because it was Sunday it was a little difficult to get in contact with management, but in the end, everything worked out.

This is not a B&B as advertised and should be reflected on the description.

Very good

Great location, walking distance to all the sites. The BnB is based in an old building and the owners kept the charm of it inside as well. The room was clean and cozy. Matteo (the host) was very friendly and forthcoming, especially with our super late check-in

I had a very pleasant stay here. Even though I arrived earlier than the usual check in time I was lucky to get the room with a guided self check in process. Matteo is very helpful. The lady who comes to clean is a very friendly even though we communicated using translator app. She is also very helpful. The location is great and it is very close to Catania Central station to take the train as well as Interbus, flix bus in case you need to travel to nearby cities. It is also walkable to the port if you want to take the ferry to Malta as the coach transfer to Pozzallo is from this port. The main attractions and guided tours are walkable from the property.

Spacious room, clean, and the hotel staff was always friendly in their interactions. The apartment is well-located in Catania, with easy walking access to the city center. The breakfast offered is a real highlight compared to other establishments. Check-in was smooth and hassle-free. If I had to choose accommodation in Catania again, I would pick the same place!

The house had a very bad smell of drainage. When I was messaging on WhatsApp, one of the employees told me that the problem had been there for a couple of days and they failed to inform me. This is unacceptable.

A tiny dark bathroom was located up a separate flight of twisty stairs, into an attic. The bathroom smelled bad.

Everything Nothing, it was perfect

It is very close to the Ali bus stop to the airport. I liked the old style elevator and the building, the furniture in the hall.There is a great gelateria and pizza place just a couple of hundred meters away. Getting in upon arrival was well organized.

Very good location, the staff were amazing, beyond helpful. It’s very safe, I was a female travelling alone and never felt unsafe. Property is extremely clean and the room was well fitted out. The keys are a little difficult to use. The locks are old. But that’s it, this property is great value for money

a beautiful and spacious room with a very large and comfortable bed. renovated bathroom with a shower cubicle. common room with a small kitchenette. very close to the main street leading to the Elephant and Duomo area. gratis bottles of water in the common room fridge no staff on site to provide entry to property. self entry was very frustrating arriving late at night and not knowing which door to enter. courtyard locks were difficult to open, even for the local tenants. a bit loud in the morning with traffic from the main road. breakfast is basic. make your own coffee/tea with packaged crackers and packaged pastries (great cafe on the corner).
