Ancelle Cristo Re

This was our first stay at Ancel Cristo Re, Moalboal, Cebu, and we spent 3 wonderful nights here. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and always greeted us with a smile. We had a whale shark tour that required us to leave at 3am, and the hotel thoughtfully prepared and packed our breakfast before we left. Such a small gesture, but it meant a lot to us. We also made a new friend during our stay… a cute little puppy named Ginger. ? Ginger was friendly, well-behaved, and basically became our unofficial tour guide, following us around everywhere! The breakfast was delicious, the rooms were spotless, and the overall cleanliness of the place was top-notch. We came for the whale sharks but ended up missing Ginger too when we left. ? We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back again! Beachfront not sure if can swim and safe?

Sister provided way more than we could eat each morning with a rotation on variety of meats and fruits which kept each day fresh with options. She was very accommodating to times we needed each day for breakfast. She was always there to answer questions and arrange transportation to make our stay very good. Location is close to town but far enough for quiet retreat. Would like to have air conditioning in main area of home not just bedrooms. Could have a screen in front of sliding doors to welcome the cool ocean breeze as alternative measure to cool main part of home.

This accomodation is located in a tranquil part of Moalboal,an easywalk into town for drinks and dinner The large home was roomy,a little dark inside and the main loungeroom very hot so not a great place to gather but outside was beautiful with a charming water view .it was easy to swim the sardine run from here and Sr Theresa is the most beautiful host preparing an amazing breakfast each morning and organising our drivers to swim with the whale sharks and experience the most stunning waterfalls in Cebu You will love this property

The location is peaceful and quiet away from the noise, plus the property is right at the beach so basically it’s like you get your own slice of paradise. Not too far from the cafes, restaurants and sardine run, just about 10-12min walk. The resort is run by the nuns, all are friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay :)

The location was perfect! It was far from all the hustle and bustle of Panagsama beach but still close enough to walk there if you want to explore the area. The property was run by nuns and all proceeds go to an orphanage ♥️. We stayed in the 3 bedroom villa. It was very clean and tidy with lots of room for all of us. The outdoor space offers a refreshing break from the heat of the sun and let you enjoy the fresh ocean breeze. None.

We loved everything about our stay at Ancelle Cristo - sister Theresa and the other sisters made us feel welcome and comfortable, providing kindness, advice, a clean and comfortable place to stay and a great breakfast to start the day. The profits from the stays go towards an orphanage in Cebu city and the sisters also look after abandoned animals too. It is quiet and peaceful away from the main strip (short 10 minute walk) sister Theresa kindly arranged transport for us to and from the airport and also offered to help us book excursions. We were able to borrow snorkeling gear and use the kayak on the beach. They also kindly did some laundry for us. You can sit and watch a beautiful sunset from your hammock. If I find myself in this part of the world again I will sure enough he staying with Sister Theresa again ❤️ Nothing

Located about a 10 minute walk from the main restaurant district along the beach of Moalboal, it’s a little slice of heaven with great accommodations located right off the beach. The adjoining reef offered better snorkeling than our day trip to Pescadore Island. The real treasure at Ancille Cristo Re are the sisters who run it. Sister Teresa was a Godsend to us going out to get us pizza when we were too tired to get out ourselves and literally traveling a few miles when we accidentally lost our credit card while shopping in town! The only minor issue we had with our stay was a feral dog nearby the property that barked incessantly.

Sister was terrific, took care of every request (and there were many such as transfers and tours) and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent, and as others mention it's just a 10min walk into town. Or, you can pay for a tricycle but they wanted 200+ Peso for a 3min drive so we walked all but once.. The house was great, plenty of space, and the kids enjoyed Stella (resident dog) and the cats around. Snorkelling right off the door step (you'll need to swim out about 100m to get to the reef but plenty to see - see photos). We had a great time, thanks again. The path up to the residence could use some work but that's not the accomodations fault, just very bumpy and you'll need a torch walking at night.

the location is superb. private beach is fantastic. super clean. breakfast is fantastic. staff is super nice. only problem we had is the 2nd bed in the room was very uncomfortable.

Worth the price with breakfast provided and beach nearby. Just a 10 mins walk to town, away from noises. Staff service is good and responsive! Glad that we booked this homestay in the end! A chill and relaxing trip for us The only one thing would be the path leads to the homestay, it is unpaved and not tarred road.

This is my first review at this website. I will definitely advise this guesthouse or hotel, as you wish to call it. Everything is perfect, we had amazing holidays at this place, my sons want to come back as soon as possible. This is the real feedback for me) Hosts are perfect, nuns did everything we asked for. Thank you very much for your hospitality. If we come to Cebu next time, definitely will stay at this place.

Main bathroom a little dated

Have you ever wondered what it feels like to have a beach house? Because our stay was exactly just that. It was private, serene, and sister Theresa was very kind to us. Our breakfast consisted of homely food and every day was different. They offered separate soaps, shampoo, toothbrushes for every person booked. They pretty much accommodate and cater to your needs, whether that’s requesting for a particular dish or have someone come in to give you a massage. Way cheaper than heading to the main street. They also offer free use of snorkeling equipments. The place was donated to them by a kind Italian man, and they use it to do great things. The proceeds goes towards their orphanage in Tabunok. We felt very relaxed during our stay. It’s a shame we had to leave. Thank you.

Large comfortable cottage. Sister Teresa was kind and thoughtful and responsive. She arranged transportation for us and an excursion Kawasan canyoneering and Olson that left from Moalboal. She even prepped a packed breakfast for us on the day of our excursion. The breakfasts were hearty and delicious. I liked the fact that we had our own water cooler. Nothing
