Park Hyatt Chennai

Our overall stay at Park Hyatt Chennai was pleasant and comfortable. The hotel had a calm, elegant atmosphere, and we appreciated the courteous and unobtrusive manner of the staff. The people were the strongest part of our experience. Shang, Bala, Nibha and Sujal from Housekeeping were excellent throughout our stay. Jessica, Lian, Achan and Julie at Antahpura Spa were attentive, warm and professional. Chef Thiagarajan deserves a special mention. On a day when I was feeling quite low, he went out of his way to prepare a simple, comforting home-style meal for me. His thoughtfulness made a considerable difference. The milk prepared with spices at my request was heavenly and remains one of the most memorable parts of the stay. Anu always greeted us with a warm smile in the restaurant, and Ranjan was also attentive and helpful. We would also like to acknowledge Rahul at reception, Santhosh from the Front Office, engineer Raja, Pankaj from Security and the wider team for their assistance and courtesy. The buffet had been discontinued. I understand that there may be valid reasons for this, including food wastage, operating costs and the level of demand. However, without the buffet, the limited variety available at Park Brasserie became more noticeable. Food preferences naturally differ, but the restaurant menu did not provide sufficient range, particularly for guests staying for several days or those seeking simpler meals. Some members of the in-room dining team also did not understand our requests clearly. This became more difficult because the room telephone did not work reliably. There were errors in our guest details as well. Australia had been entered as our location even though we had clearly stated that we live in London. Canberra was also spelt incorrectly. These may appear to be minor administrative errors, but accuracy matters in an international hotel of Park Hyatt’s standing. Suggestions If reinstating the buffet is not commercially practical, Park Brasserie could offer a broader à la carte selection or a smaller rotating menu. This would provide more variety while also helping the hotel manage wastage and cost. The menu could include more simple, home-style options for guests who may not want rich or elaborate restaurant food throughout their stay. In-room dining staff would benefit from confirming individual requests carefully, particularly where guests have specific dietary or preparation preferences. Room telephones should be checked before guests arrive, and any reported fault should be resolved promptly. Guest information should also be confirmed at check-in rather than entered based on passport details or assumption. A final check of locations and spellings would prevent avoidable errors. The care shown by many members of staff gave warmth to our stay. Greater variety in the restaurant, clearer communication, reliable room facilities and more accurate guest records would strengthen the overall experience.

We did not have more time to stay. We stayed only one night.

The hotel is well maintained and the staff well trained, especially the staff with direct customer contact. Also, staff delivering items to the rom (laundry, room service, etc.) are very well trained (unlike man other hotels in Chennai) and don't "hover" expecting tips. The entire hotel as well as the rooms are spotless and very clean and the beds are comfortable. Towels are clean and well maintained, unlike other 5-star hotels the towels smell pleasant and not of bleach. Food (Breakfast and Room Service) is good in terms of quality and selection, as mentioned, some more "authentic" South Indian dishes would be a welcome addition. The room we stayed in had a small cooking range, a dishwasher as well as a roomy fridge, which is welcome if you want to prepare your own meals or want to buy some fruits or other perishables. All in all, a pleasant hotel to stay, and we will surely come back. The hotel has a famous bar/disco called "Flying Elephant" which can be crowded on weekends. From the hotel, you can be within 30 mins (depending on traffic) at some of Chennai's landmarks, e.g. Phoenix mall, Mylapore, T-Nagar, etc. Also, the location is convenient for trips to Mahabalipuram and Puducherry/Pondycherry The hotel has their own fleet of cars but I didn't check if these can be rented on a daily/half daily basis. They are used for airport drops and our airport drop was seamless, the driver careful and the car spotless. The Indian breakfast selection, while good in quality and selection, is more reliant on North Indian dishes, and the South Indian dishes on offer have a distinct North Indian influence (e.g. the Sambhar). It is a bit of a shame as offering "authentic" South Indian breakfast items would be a very nice start in the day for anyone visiting Chennai. The dishwasher frequently reported an error but the in-house technicians swiftly fixed it.

The hotel staff were extremely helpful and accommodated requests to make my stay most comfortable. Room was not too big but compact with all amenities. Fit for those who go on business trip and would like to have closed and private accommodation.

Spacious and aesthetically designed to be well ventilated. Approach from main road was a bit tough. Need some sign boards. Dinner spread was limited but had a lot of wise and healthy options.

Staff were very courteous. Very helpful when I needed some documents printed. This will definitely be my place to stay on my next visit. Breakfast was excellent with lots of variety. However having same buffet for 6-7 days made it a little boring. Taste and flavor were on milder side as it caters to mainly overseas patrons. But overall very satisfactory

The entire hotel was incredible and one of the best that we have ever stayed in. In particular, the staff at breakfast (especially Awash and Kati) made us feel right at home and made us a specific dessert on the last meal of our trip. My wife and I had a fantastic time here and made great use of all of the amenities that we could, including the gym, getting a haircut, and the chai events in the lobby. We would absolutely stay here the next time we are in Chennai. There is nothing that comes to mind that could be improved - the hotel and staff seemed to have thought of everything!

All the staff were amazing. The breakfast staff were very helpful. I caught a cold from all the fans going at the wedding events I attended (Not from the Hyatt) and the staff made me a hot water lemon and ginger drink to help me feel better, and then gave me a takeaway cup to go. Greatly appreciated. The security staff were also welcoming and helpful, and very thorough. They also kept me updated on the cyclone and flight cancellations. So special thanks to the head of security. Our room assistant kept our room spotlessly clean and was so friendly and nice. The reception staff were also amazing and helpful especially Zoya. Nothing was too much trouble. I would certainly return to the Park Hyatt Chennai. Thank you to all your amazing staff, you made our 12 day stay very special. The flying elephant

As usual a perfect hotel as per 5 star Nothing

Not just one person infact every other member.

The breakfast is good with a wide spread of varieties. The attention from Rahul, Arindam, Avash, Karthick and the service staff was exceptional. Everyone of them were super attentive and made our stay both memorable and comfortable. The best part was Sous Chef Swarnendu, he was always there to explain and customize the dish if needed, not just once but every time we requested, especially making a consideration for my elderly parents. He made us feel as if we never left home. A special word of thanks to the engineering team, for helping with my dad’s medical equipment. Thanks to Lov & Ravi for the help with the bags. A major thank you to the house keeping staff, Shaktivel for keeping our all 3 of our rooms clean and well stocked. There’s isn’t a thing we didn’t like the whole experience was well tied together.

We love the attention to details by the staff, every department were helpful as we needed their assistance. Starting from Sneha at the front desk, who helped keep all our family near each other, as we had 3 rooms. Ravi & Lov with our luggages. Chef Swarnendu, Rahul, Arindam and rest of the service staff who were attentive throughout every meal. Thank you for making our stay very comfortable and memorable one.
