Somewhat gross in bathroom but well worth the money! Staff was nice
-
Great atmosphere and perfect location to explore Chiang Mai. The hotel has a stylish and modern vibe with a very relaxing pool area. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and the staff were always kind and welcoming. Plenty of cafés, restaurants, and nightlife nearby which made the stay even better.

The Opium is a perfect place to stay in Chiang Mai. It is close to the city center and airport by taxi or Tuktuk. The rooms and facilities are very convenient. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They upgraded our room, which is appreciated. We enjoyed both pools ? Nothing!

The pools are lovely. The breakfast is really good. The staff is kind. The decor is nice as well. Really reputable place. A There was really loud construction coming from the room next door which damaged our opinion of the hotel otherwise I would have thought it was perfect.

I had a great stay at The Opium Chiang Mai. The hotel is located in a quiet area, which made it perfect for relaxing after a long day exploring Chiang Mai. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-maintained, with a modern touch that made the stay very comfortable. The pool area is great… BUT the mosquitoes apparently also booked a stay So yeah, you’re not swimming alone—free “extra guests” included.
-
Overall, I highly recommend The Opium Chiang Mai for anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable place to stay in Chiang Mai Location is quiet
-
The space is well taken care of and clean, staff is very attentive and kind. The room was spacious. The location is perfect for walking around to countless food options and more without having to drive anywhere but also about 15 minutes from most major cities in the city. There’s nothing I would say could improve.

The hotel is in a nice quiet area, not lots around but enough for our few days stay. Our room was wonderful, the spaces were well thought out and our Son enjoyed having his own private bedroom with en-suite within our apartment. The pool was a lovely touch, we used it in the afternoon for a nice cooling dip once we'd returned from sightseeing. The 7/11 round the corner was close enough and nice and handy for filling up our fridge in our room with drinks and snacks. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Booking our trip to Pai through them was nice and easy too. We would definitely stay here again. Nothing to report

Wall outlets are few. Looks dated.
-
Very chill place with amazing staff Some things have seen better days, but it didn't ruin the stay
-
Nice boutique hotel with exceptional staff. It was a good value for the price paid.
-
Very good value for the money. Clean spacious room outdoor seating for evening snack or beer, rooftop sun-beds, two pools. Friendly staff, 24/7 reception, breakfast was included but I didn’t partake too much. It’s hidden away from the busy streets so it was peaceful and quiet. Oh and they have two adorable cats! The hot/cold water in the shower was a little spotty, either cold or scorching hot sometimes.
-
Convenient location, great breakfast!! One of the pools was a little dated
-
The pools were nice The bedding was changed daily Staff were not friendly Breakfast was expensive for what was on offer
-
Good size room..great pools with plenty if loungers and chairs Needed to get a grab to main areas but need to check beforehand next time

The general environment is very nice. The vibes are great. The stuff were really helpful with anything we require. Breakfast is also good. Interesting surrounding neighbourhoods with shops and restaurants a few minutes away. The baby bed they gave us was extremely dirty so we didn't end up using it. But other baby beds from other rooms seem to be clean enough. First thing we see entering the room is a dead cockroach on the floor. That made our the first night. One pool was not clean enough with sunscreen grease floating on top of it. So we didn't use that one. The other pool's fine. No toiletries. We had to go to the nearby 711 to get slippers and toothbrushes and toothpastes. But now that 711 is also closed.

We liked our one bedroom grand suite with balcony, especially liked the balcony and that it was quiet after 10pm. The bathroom was newly remodeled and spacious. The staff was great. Housekeeping left us water by our door when the do not disturb sign was out. The breakfast buffet was good for us. We liked the coin operated washer and dryer on site. Having 2 pools was nice, one was mostly shaded and the other was mostly sunny. The neighborhood is filled with laundry services, a variety of restaurants, barbers, 7-Eleven stores and other convenience stores so you don't have to go to the Old City for anything if you don't want to. Food delivery is available as well. Overall we really liked our stay at The Opium Chiang Mai. We had the best of both worlds a relaxing quiet place with easy access to the Old City and tour company pickups. It seems as if they recently remodeled our room as the paneling in the rooms and bathroom looked upgraded. That was very nice but it was hard to get really comfortable there as there was barely any furniture to put things away in or on top of. They would really benefit from adding a wardrobe and more tables near outlets to plug in devices. The bathroom is very spacious. The kitchen and bathroom sinks are cold water but the shower has its own instant hot water heater which was very nice. Just like in the bedroom there isn't many places to store your accessories by the sink or in the shower.
-
Swimming pool, quiet room with a green view, reasonable price, helpful staff, that we could stay as long as we wanted even after checking out, to enjoy the pool, check out and check in times, proximity to the Jang Jai market...It was like being out in the country even if we were technically in the city. All good.
-
Off the beaten path but nice area We we in a room just next to a bar that was loud until 12:15am the 1st night then asked to switch to another more quiet room the 2nd night and was very quiet the entire night. Make sure you get a quiet side if that matters to you

The staff is amazing, the breakfast is good.
