Great hospitality!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Sofitel. Great property and fabulous location. Walking distance to everything in the Gold Coast, Streeterville and River Noth.

The hotel was conveniently located. The restaurant had a nice breakfast although it was expensive for what we got. The rooms were far too small for the price. We could barely get by each other in the room. There was no room service, no housekeeping, the front desk had to answer all calls. I couldn't even get an operator on the phone. The King Size room was apparently designed for only one occupant. There was only one bath robe and 2 big towels for my wife and I.

We checked in after the stated check-in time of 3:00 PM, but our room was not ready. We were asked to pay extra for an upgrade and ended up waiting outside for two hours until the room was ready. My other concern is the $50 amenity fee charged at checkout, which included water in the room. I was not aware that the water was part of the amenity fee, and I did not drink it. This fee and what it included should have been clearly explained at check-in. The room was clean and everything else was good, but this level of service does not feel like a 4.5 star hotel experience.

Le Bar was great Staff was attentive and friendly My laundry was not ready on time. Laundry lady did best to wash it. Staff knocked at my door 2 times by mistake: thinking my room was empty and confused it with a different room

Great stay!

Nice location and great view from the room. Breakfast is good. It could be more clear when booking from Expedia, how many breakfasts are included. We were told by the front desk that since we are one adult and one child, we can only have one breakfast covered. We asked if we are two adults, they said two breakfasts would be covered which is counterintuitive. I think in general there is a gap of understanding between Expedia and the hotel when a 2nd guest is between 12 and 18. Expedia consider them as kid while hotel doesn't. There is not much we can do when booking as we have to indicate then as kid on Expedia. So when it comes to breakfast, there is such ambiguity.

Location, quiet rooms and ease of check in and checkout. Food was good King bed mattresses were older and they used a queen topper that didn’t fit the bed. Service didn’t come to clean room upon request.
