Lovely old pub hotel in the center of Kingham. Very quiet village with great walks outside the front door. Sunday roast dinner was outstanding We arrived on the train. No taxis available even though we called the local numbers the pub provided. It’s 1.5 miles from the station to the pub. We ended up hitching a ride with a kind local couple. Thank goodness.

Breakfast was excellent as was the staff and ease for doing local hikes. Toilet worked only once or twice until not being able to flush at all. Not of fault of the property but there was a heat wave when we were there and when we entered the room it was probably over 32C. Never cooled down enough to sleep well. Also upon entering room there was very strong sewer and mildew smell. Sewer smell improved after running some water in the tub. Think the mildew smell is from leaking roof or walls and carpet was wet from heavy rain storm 2 days prior. Think the mildew smell was made worse from the high heat and no windows open for air circulation.

The food was excellent and the staff so friendly and accommodating. Be sure to pre-book a cab if arriving by train.

Breakfast was great. Enjoyed the Cotswolds. The stairs were really narrow. The hot water pressure was inconsistent and could have resulted in a scalding.

This is a beautiful old pub, with lots of character, run exceptionally well. Think quintessential Cotswolds. The room was lovely with a deep freestanding bath. I was traveling by myself and given such a warm welcome and made to feel at home. Dinner was wonderful, breakfast was lovey. It’s the perfect pace to relax and it’s set within a very pretty village. Thank you The room was quite warm when I arrived but you can turn the radiators down

Breakfast was good and was included. Great service in general. One of us was sick for a day and they brought up breakfast. Missed a chair or two in the room. Shower was great for us, but leaked all over the side which will become a problem for the owner of the property.

The property and location were stunning. The pub itself was cosy and welcoming. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Perfect place to celebrate Mum’s birthday. The food was stunning! Best breakfast, the eggs were unreal, as was the evening meal. Am recommending to everyone visiting the Cotswolds as the place to stay. The room was very hot despite the cold conditions outside and window open but didn’t deflect from the fantastic stay!

Authentic and cosy Didn’t realise two of the rooms booked didn’t have showers

Exactly what we were looking for in an inn at the cotswolds. The property was lovely, the room was clean, and the breakfast was fabulous. Staff was fantastic, as well. Nothing! Maybe having to lug my girlfriend’s 80 kilo suitcase up two flights of stairs haha!

The Barn was very well laid out and cozy. Lots of light , warmth and good amenities. We felt very relaxed as that was the main point of the trip apart from countryside walks. Breakfast was included and a good choice of the most popular items. The service was very welcoming and pleasant. Nothing to fault.

The food was excellent. The room was small and dated. The toilet did not flush easily. The sink was cracked. The area around the tub'shower needed maintenance. This is not a 4 star property, except for the food.

It was very quaint and the staff was fantastic. There was a heatwave in GB and it was quite warm without air conditioning.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent.

Wow where to start! First of all, the staff went out of their way to help us and be kind and welcoming to us. We loved how old and historic the inn is - a 500 year old building as most are in the Cotswolds. However, that does mean that it doesn't have AC. However, that means you'll get a very charming interior and exterior. The room was extremely clean and decorated charmingly. We had a luxurious clawfoot bath with wonderfully hot water. The breakfast in the morning is a must - make sure you do not miss it! The eggs are "Cacklebean" eggs which are from local chickens and the yolk are the most orange color I've ever seen! The bread and local butter are wonderful. I must say - I thought I would be taxi-ing or Ubering all over the Cotswolds to see all the sights: Stow on the Wold, Burton on the Water, Morton on the Marsh etc. However, there are no Ubers and taxis are quite expensive. So make sure to adjust your expectations and stay in one place. There was a lot to do in Kingham - the restaurant at the Kingham Plough has a delightful menu and for dinner we walked to the Wild Rabbit - which is one of the most well-known restaurants in Cotswolds anyway. And we enjoyed our stroll around the neighborhood where there are the most charming houses. We wished there was a way to cool down without letting in bugs. We were equipped with one small fan and there wasn't a screen in the window or a way to keep bugs out without keeping the window closed.

Food very good. The hand washbasin being in a cupboard in the bedroom. When using during night, disturbed partner sleeping. Also not very private being in cupboard in bedroom.

The ease of parking, checking in etc. We arrived at a busy time - Friday evening and staff attended to us really quickly. Nothing - that we couldn't stay longer

Fantastic, attentive service and a great stay over a couple of nights. We ate on a couple of occasions and the food was delicious. We will be back.
