Very clean. Lovely staff, welcoming and the chocolate was a nice touch. One of the better motels ive stayed in thats in the lower price range.

Lovely person at reception when I checked in and check out room was freezing and took a while to get warm once I worked out where the heater was

Good communication with staff when no of guests was double checked. When I had a problem with theXcover website re adding names of the other 2 guests, staff sorted it. The original Booking.com online site only asked for the name of the main guest but Xcover needed all names before approving insurance and their info was initially confusing. The motel experience was excellent, but online form booking forms for Booking.com needed just the main person's name and Xcover asked for all names and this step was not straightforward. Solved by contacting the Chat system on Xcover and the Ascot Vale staff.

Location was excellent for where we wanted to be. The reception staff are so obliging , making sure our stay is comfortable.

We were offered assistance with our luggage (which was great as we had a few bags), fresh milk in a bottle for our coffee and there was washing machine in the laundry area available for guests.

Lovely receptionist. Even got free chocolate bars and there were lollies in the unit. Great value for money. Very quiet. No traffic noise. Good heating. Extra heaters in the wardrobe. The microwave was too high. I could use it, but my mum could not. The plug on one of the electric blankets had the inner cables showing. I opened the bathroom window slightly and didn't notice it opened itself fully while I was in the shower. Was standing naked drying myself when I realised I was in full view of carpark!

The location is the big drawcard for this motel as it is very close to the Westfield Mall at Riccarton and right around the corner from the university of Canterbury. The staff were very friendly and made up an extra bed for us as we had a last minute guest decide to join us. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment which was very roomy and clean. There was loads of space for us and all our luggage. The kitchen was well stocked with crockery and cutlery. Some of the room is a bit dated, the curtains over the door need hanging properly. The bathroom window swings open with alarming force, it should be fixed with a window stay. The toilet brush needs replacing, it was nearly black with mold, it's a cheap easy fix.

The care taken by the owner in welcoming and ensuring we had all we needed. It was good to have a single and double bed but sadly it proved to be quite cramped in the kitchen area, ok perhaps for a one night stay.

Clean! The bed is also good enough, and the price is great. The heater. It is not a biggie because they also provided 2 more heaters, but if you need warmth fast, you won't, because the heater in the room is kinda outdated.
