La Place Guesthouse

The place is a bit difficult to find, since it looks like a restaurant (and indeed it is). I hope that they can explicitly label "guest house" at the front door, which I believe to be helpful for travellers.

I don't like anything here, not recommended. There is no window for view. And the aircon is not appropriate for the room, it won't make it cold. still hot inside.

If you need sleep skip the hostel, music end at 4.00 am

The place was basically a brothel with comings and goings from the rooms. The bathroom smelled of urine. There were bugs in the room. Didn't feel safe so didn't end up staying here.

I liked that it was cheap… and that’s about it. The website says it has wifi but apparently not all the rooms do have it so it really depends what room you get. The first room I was assigned did have wifi but also had a leaking roof and it was dripping wet brown all over the bed. Then the second room I was moved to smelled terribly like cigarette smoke at night and was right next to the loud busy road. Also the I think the girls who work at the bar that’s next store stay in one of the rooms because at like 3 am every night they would come in a talk really loud and wake me up since the walls were thin.

location and there’s resto bar as well. a good option for us as we just need a place to sleep for an overnight layover in cebu. the aircon wasn’t cold, maybe it just need a cleaning. I sweat much during the sleep.

Air conditioning was cool, location good, room clean, staff helpful, good value No hot water but it was ok because shower water is lukewarm normally anyways

The place has a chill vibe with locals coming in for the hookah and pool table. Staff is friendly and Vanessa speaks great English making it easier for me. Food is at par with American restaurants. I ordered the burger and got real cheddar cheese, real ketchup (not banana ketchup), fries are crispy and you get full size napkins. After being in PI for a month, these small pleasures are great! I got a massage next door, but other than that not much to do in the area. Also, no TV in my room, just an empty TV bracket.

Positives: They have a nice restaurant and lounge area with free billiards, music, and well-priced drinks and shisha. The shower has hot water and the air conditioning works well. The room was clean except for tiny ants, but I assume that's common in this region. Negatives: The Wi-Fi would go in and out, there was no room safe as advertised on booking.com, and they forgot to give me a key to re-enter the hotel during the day when the restaurant is closed, leaving stranded outside in pouring rain and ringing the bell for about 8 minutes.

I asked sleepyhead waitress to change the room but she wasn’t on it, a housekeeper took us to a new room from a 2nd day.

The property was clean, comfortable and in a good location. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Food and drink were reasonably priced and very tasty At times the music was a little loud but not terrible

Exceptional

Given the price, La Place is a nice place to stay - I have been here several times and the staff is great, the room is clean, the shower has nice pressure and the bar/resto is very convenient. If you play, there is a very good billiard table! I walk into Maribago where there are many services, and go to resorts for their locations on the water. The A/C could be upgraded to a higher output unit, but the staff brought in a fan which made the difference.

Staff is very nice and pro. The bar atmosphere is super cool. A good place to relax and have fun.

The room was good size and the bathroom and shower were excellent. Very comfortable king sized bed. They have a good menu too It's excellent for the money! For the money La Place is perfect
