Location No social environment

Having a kitchenette is a must.
-
Bed bugs and the AC in the dorm is tucked away in a corner that doesn't circulate through the room.

All went good
-
Loved the room, it was very big and spacious. Clean and airy. The location of the property was walking distance to most of the places, including the beach. All the bienalle places was close by and popular restaurants was all within walking distance. Overall a great property and location. Everything was good. Only concern, there was no elevator so accessibility could be a challenge. But ample big staircase otherwise.

The staff was WONDERFUL! So very attentive and kind, they helped us out with all kinds of queries, and tried their best to meet all our needs. The room was smelling of stale smoke. The terrace has a smoking area but guests are obviously smoking in the room and causing it to smell quite bad.
-
Best location to stay if visiting the bienalle as all the venues are walkable. The check-in process felt a bit laggy and extensive if done in person; it's better to finish it online before arrival
-
Good central location, friendly staff, big room and terrace with common area, free water Cleanliness could be improved (towels and bathroom), payment via app a bit tricky, high priced for the performance you get

Great NA
-
Toilet not clean.

Staff is helpful, we booked the room with balcony and the room was too spacious. Although the location and room was great, the tarrif was slightly on the higher side
-
The room was very dark and not very private as there was a next door property with windows facing straight in to my room. The booking process was a hassle because booking.com kept sending me emails saying payment failed, hostel saying they've sent me payment links but no links received, a chat bot on WhatsApp but eventually I got talking to a person and they sent me a new payment link. Would be much easier for their online system to be directly linked from booking.com.

Staff went above and beyond, are social and fun to hang around with

Recommended stay in Fort Kochi

Booked this property since we were in Fort Kochi for exactly 24 hours, most of which we planned to spend outdoors. On that front, it has a great location advantage. It is a short walking distance from the water metro terminal. Places we visited on foot from here: Princess Street, St. Francis Church, David Hall, Vasco Da Gama Square, Chinese Nets, MG Beach, Beach Walkway, Burgher St Cafes & Restaurants - Qissa, Kashi Art Cafe, Trouvaille, Lila Art Cafe, Seagulls Autos were easily available to go to Mattancherry side. The property was a good budget option and was safe, convenient, clean and functional for what we were expecting from a short stay. 1. The booking and check in process is painful. The Hosteller does not have any human customer service, only IVR and chatbot. While they are listed on Booking.com, they are not authorized to charge credit cards through this service and you will be sent a Razorpay link to complete the booking. After my booking, the confirmation took over 12 hours and during this time I could not reach a single human being from their team for support. I recommend their own website for a hassle free booking process. 2. This property in particular is situated next to a private residence where they tend to play loud music at any given hour - it cannot be helped by The Hosteller. 3. There was a strange sound coming from behind the wardrobe in our room at periodic intervals - we could not figure out what it was. Did not bother as we didn't use the room much besides sleeping the night.
