Hotel Ponce de Leon

This place is horrible and completely unsanitary; there is a terrible smell stretching from the lobby to the room, the bed is far too hard, and at night the sheet is itchy—as if there were bedbugs. I wouldn't go back to a place like this, not even if the stay were free.

Have stayed at this property several times before to visit daughter at UMiami, and just feel comfortable and at home here ... clean, accessible parking, nice local community, and great staff!!

This place is like walking back in time, which was fine though because it was clean and the price was very good. It almost has that haunted feel to it with all the old pictures and floor creaks which actually made it kinda of cool. But there are not really any amenities. One very old type coke machine with soda only, no water bottles in the room when you get there. The a/c was a small and loud window unit. It did have a fridge and microwave and the water was hot when needed. No room service or anything like that but there is a Target about a block away. Not hardly any lobby to sit either, although there was a gumball machine! The cleaning ladies and person behind the glass at the desk were always nice, although some didn’t speak any English. Parking was find your own on the side streets, but we never had a problem finding one within a block. This is just a place to sleep at the end of your day which is all we needed. And again, great price. I would stay again.

Great price, location and history of a hotel. Very well kept. Comfortable bed. No parking but there’s free street parking or meters in front of the hotel. No elevator (you’ll have to take your luggage up). My go to hotel when I come down to Miami.

The room was clean and the staff was very kind. The bed was comfortable. The shower water pressure was good and there was enough hot water at all times which was nice. The parking wasn’t ideal. The hotel is a bit dated inside. The air conditioning didn’t seem to work at full capacity and it was very noisy. The hotel ran out of soap during our stay so we had to buy our own just to wash our hands.

Last time we stayed there was not hot water at night. This time there was, however, there was no hot water in the morning! Staff talks to me as if I am 5 years old to explain its my fault.

me gustó mucho el hotel, super bien ubicado y limpio. No tiene parking pero se puede dejar el carro en la calle y fue muy seguro.

I always stay here when I’m in Miami which is 4-6 times a year. I love the location, and it’s great value for money. I love that the room has a microwave, fridge, coffee machine and hairdryer. The staff are also really helpful and friendly.

We are very unhappy to have been charged a fee for a dirty towel. My daughter has had her hair done 2 weeks prior and it slightly color the towel. Couldn't have been permenatly stained since it hasn't stained our towels at home. It is not like we used wall paint or ink on the towels. We tried to reach out the hotel but haven't heard back.
