The room, the staff, breakfast. I depend on wifi, and it is really poor.

no reception system is not convenient because you are obliged to check leave at 10:30 and cannot even leave your luggage anywhere

The room was clean. Two days before our arrival we were informed by phone that they couldn’t provide the booked breakfast at the hotel because of a lack of personnel. They offered two alternatives: either they could leave us a “lunch pack” in the fridge or we could go have a breakfast buffet at a different hotel by the same owner - that was however 2,5 km away. We decided for the breakfast buffet in spite of the distance. However, on our first morning, after biking under rain for 2,5km to the said hotel, we were met with a closed door and a note at the door saying that the breakfast was cancelled because some of the staff had called in sick. Someone was there to write a note and put it on the door but no one had the forethought of calling the guests of the other hotel to let them know the breakfast wouldn’t be available before they went there. We weren’t the only ones standing dumbfounded at the closed door of course, a number of other guests of our hotel were also there including elderly guests one of which with a walker who had taken the bus to get there. We called the same number that had called us to inform us about the breakfast alternatives and no one picked up. We had breakfast at a nearby bakery and about an hour later went by the hotel again and there were still guests of our hotel being surprised at the door. They hadn’t managed to inform even the guests that arrived much later for breakfast. We were later contacted by our hotel who promised to refund us what we had payed at the bakery - which was more than what breakfast at the hotel had cost. Only a few days later, as we were back home, they refunded us only what we had paid them for the breakfast that wasn't provided - NOT what they had promised. They should have thought of how to compensate us for the inconvenience beyond simply returning the money for a service they didn’t provide, which is just what they would be minimally obliged to do, and they should have taken responsibility for what happened. Not recommended.

Not enough space for parking.

Breakfast was good. But maybe you could think about adding also croissant und scrambled eggs to the breakfast menu.

Perfect for a short and quiet break away. The bus stop is only a few hundred metres from the door, but it is also possible to walk into the town (we walked everywhere). Very close to the beach and the amazing free Zoo/park. The bed was 2 single beds pushed together, but this didn't affect our sleep. This was the only small negative, the beds were fine!

Cosy room with a clean and spacy bathroom. Parking spots are available just beside the house. Gästehaus is situated in a very quiet and calm part of Cuxhaven. The beach is around 10 minutes of walking distance, the tourist center (Duhnen) around 20 minutes. The breakfast is not served in the Gästehaus Alexandra, but in the other hotel - you have to get to the center of Duhnen. It's either a 20-25 minutes walk, or a car trip. Assuming that parking in the center is charged extra - it's quite an inconvenience. Breakfast is very tasty though.

Kitchen had a kettle, nice seating arrangement, books. I couldn’t reach anyone on the number provided. Didn’t get any info on WiFi. Not having anyone to talk to was uncomfortable.
