Clean, beautiful and comfortable room with excellent view of the ocean. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing. The gym is too small with very limited equipment.

Breakfasts were great! Many options from European to Chinese cuisine. The room is spacious, great view from the balcony. The staff is helpful even though the communication is often complicated - they speak only Chinese and use machine translators. Spacious territory shared with JW Marriot which facilities are also available. There was a stench from the toilet, I presume, due to the sewerage pecularities. At times, we could also smell strong cigarette smoke from the ventilation inside the room - not so nice for non-smokers. The room is cleaned regularly, but the cleaners don't wipe out all the surfaces, so some of them remained dusty for the entire stay of 10 days. There is no dedicated beach at the hotel, so you will have to take a short walk down the road with cars passing by if you wany to get to the sandy beach/seaside walk.

There was an option to communicate with the staff via Wechat which was convenient. They were able to share additional information for reference such as breakfast timings, hotel shuttle timings to nearby locations/attractions. You could also take a short leisurely walk along the waterfront to and fro both ends as JW Marriott and Shanghaitian share the same compound. Some may find the hotel's location inaccessible as it is relatively more exclusive - convenient store is perhaps a 10 min walk away. We didn't find this to be a major issue. Considering the various sightseeing areas in the east/west areas of Sanya, dadonghai is considered central and reduced the time needed for travel. We had a late lunch at the hotel's restaurant as we arrived late on our first day. Even though we were the only ones at the restaurant, the food took a long time to come and the service staff never once checked in.

Lovely hotel with great location and nice bathtub with view! Love the vibe and it is less crowded as compared to other hotels. Definitely worth a stay here! The long breakfast hour also allowed us to not rush through the breakfast period. The breakfast options could be improved further.

Location and next to another sister hotel JW Marriot, so can use facilities of both hotels. Nice pools and by the sea with pleasant views

comfortable room with nice bathroom and view to the bay. very friendly crew from reception until waiters, barmen and cleaning personal. especially the chef showed his dedication to satisfy the customers during breakfast. breakfast variety is very rich. no waiting lines. very clean. good situated. nice pool surrounding. good and affordable bar. 15 minutes walk to the Dolphin Sports Bar - very recommendable, good food, very good drinks, international service level, good prices. international tourist place and nearly nobody speaks english. catch a taxi in front of hotel is difficult. taxi driver rejects the service. there is no beach to go swimming but still nice for a walk when low tide. air condition is not effective, need to chose between strong cold direct onto the bed blowing wind or too low flow to cool down.

The cashew nuts that the restaurant prepared. Outside of the hotel, the weather was beautiful. The card constantly didn't work in the lift, so I couldn't get to my room. This happened many times during my stay. People smoke in the hotel, even though the hotel promotes itself as non-smoking. Why would the hotel provide ashtrays and places to smoke on the premises. very disappointing. Some of the staff were not very skilled. They would start assisting you, then tend to someone else. Very rude. Staff not very proactive or considerate. The pool area wasn't clean. Sticky ground around the pool, cigarettes on the table that has a sign saying don't smoke. The hotel should not provide smoking options for the guests. cigarettes on the breakfast table. They don't clear away the tables in the morning during breakfast, after guests have eaten.

Front Desk - check in and out was first class. The lady cleaning the rooms on my floor was outstanding. The SERVICE at the lounge was slow.

Perfect location, modern hotel, wonderful staff, great breakfast. I can't fault it at all. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Very nice 5 start clean hotel, close to the beach, rooms was cleaned to a very high standard every day. would stay here again. Staff very friendly The under ground car park was not the best it was all the rubbish was and also the lifts from there to the hotel was not the best either. apart from that no issues.

Staff was polite but need Hotel Training from checking in guest to checking them out. Bar service etc.

Breakfast, beautiful room with a huge bath with seaview. It was a very nice stay. The walkway on the beachside looks ugly and can't be used.
