Hôtel Le d'Avaugour

Very good breakfast and space in the room, the garden beautiful and the staff very nice. Good position to visit the historical city. We came with our dog in July, very high temperature and we got a room with windows open to the side of the boulevard where the sun is all day long in the room. We couldn't sleep from the noise and heat. They gave us a ventilator who didn't do nothing, we slept with the windows open because we couldn't breathe from the heat, but the noise and the cars running all night outside didn't let us sleep. The staff said they don't have clima nore other ventilator to cool the room. Thankfully it was just a night. Is better to stay out of season in this hotel.

A very comfortable room with a lift and great breakfast plus it is in a great location. We also found free parking very close to the hotel. There is also a delightful outdoor garden area. Everything was very good. It was our favourite hotel in France during 22 nights of travel in France.

The room was spacious, comfortable, and quiet, with a view of the hotel garden and hints of the Rance River Valley at the rear of the building; this is preferable to rooms with a street view. The elevator was small but in good working order. The location was very good, within easy walking distance of most of the town's main attractions (mainly historic buildings) and good restaurants. Some of the front desk personnel spoke good English (although I mostly got by with my HS French). The breakfast was probably the best and most varied that I experienced on this 27-day, 4-hotel trip. The morning staff was competent and professional, but in the afternoon and evening (when I arrived), the reception was staffed by what seemed to be the bartenders (they don't have a restaurant, but a bar with spacious, comfortable seating both in and out). These young men could not adequately explain to me the parking fee regulations in the lot directly opposite the hotel, something one expects from a good concierge. They vaguely indicated the existence of a nearby free lot, but didn't fully explain how to get there (I discovered it later on my own). Navigating the bathtub was a little tricky and the depth of the sink was a bit of a challenge for a shorter person. My overall impression is that this property has seen better days and is resting on its laurels.

Centrally located in historical center of Dinan- all major sites within 15 minute walk. Hyacinthe ( at the front desk and everywhere else) was very helpful, and knowledgeable and speaks great English. He carefully quided me through the challenges of parking and had good advice about everything. A great asset to the hotel. the hotel offers a very generous breakfast which can be eaten in the beautiful garden or interior dining space. Lounge is very nicely furnished.

Everything No air conditioning

You can walk everywhere from the hotel. There were many great restaurants nearby. The inside lounge area is very comfortable. The outdoor garden area would be wonderful if the weather had been better. The staff were friendly and available. The breakfast was superb !

Location was perfect and hotel terraze is charming. Breakfast is perfect. No private parking and pilows are too soft.

Everything - the location, the breakfast (the best ever), the staff (so friendly and helpful), the room & bed. Even the parking. Absolutely nothing , it was perfect.

The location is good. Easy walk to the old tow. Parking is a city lot across the road which is jammed all the time and very expensive. Over 30euros from 9am to 7pm per day The room was old, the sinks didn’t drain. We life’s out the drain stoppers to try the help them drain and they were covered with black nasty stuff. The whole room felt unclean.

Bar closed early.

Well decorated, central location, friendly staff. Clean room, powerful, hot shower.

The location was excellent, right on the city walls with a fantastic terrace overlooking the castle. We had a picnic lunch out there which was divine! Staff was super friendly and helpful! Easy parking in the big lot just across the street... only cost us 10 euros for two nights of parking

Amazing location, directly in the heart of the old city

Hotel room on the 3rs floor needs to be improved, mini fridge was not working and dirty. The room was small and warm (no air condition) and room has a smell of damp, especially near the beds where the night stands are placed. Overall experience was good apart from the room smell and being warm.

Location. Very quaint and very friendly and helpful staff

Just a one night stay without breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable. Ideally located for us in the centre of Dinan. We could walk round this fascinating town and to the old port from the hotel.
