Dream Village Beach Resort & Cabanas

Location on the beach was good, in between hikkaduwa and galle. Room was large with good A/C. Staff friendly We booked last minute having being let down by our planned accommodation. We booked a room which was very grim , old musty stale clothes in the wardrobe. We asked for a better room which we had to pay extra for. We paid £400 for 7 days and had to pay on arrival. Had We had not been made to pay upfront we would definitely not have stayed the 7 days, we never had our room cleaned or any offer of it in the whole week, I went and sourced a brush to sweep the floor myself and found towels on a shelf to get clean towels. I also had to go and find a waste bin as we had none in the room.Not good enough for a week costing £400. Beach and pool furniture very uncomfortable and worn. Owner seemed more concerned entertaining Russian influencers she had staying

The Location was amazing the staff was great. Loves the vibe of the location as well. The staff was very accommodating. The food was great and the portion sizes were very good as well. Will for sure recommend it to others. It would be great if they could provide white pillow cases and bed sheets.

The beach was nice. The place was not as we expected at all. We booked a room with sea view. But it was far from the sea. Rooms are not sealed there were mosquitoes. Surrounding view is not nice. It's ok if we had to pay a small amount for this kind of room. But for the price we paid, we could get a better place. Ask for the room images before booking the place.

bungalow by the ocean it could be a little bit cleaner

Location. Owner Juddy is fluent in English and German. Deliciously produced, has a good sense of humor. But she needs to rest and fall asleep because she can’t do everything. Booking.com has an incorrect address. If you drive to the address indicated, you will be 4.5 km from the villa. Lack of cleanliness. It's time to change the bathroom equipment, everything is terribly outdated. Bedding is old. There are no glass in the rooms, the owner's rules are a bit strange. I didn’t like the 10 percent surcharge a hotel wouldn’t have to charge if it wanted to be called a hotel. WIFI poor.

According to the adress provided at booking, location was in Hikkaduwa, which istnt true. It’s located in Dodanduwa, so if you want to be close to Hikka, you need to take a tuktuk each time. Nevertheless, the resort is a really good choice if you want to avoid the Hikkaduwa city (which is noisy and full of Russians) - nice beach with good access and swimming pool, too..

Le lieu porte vraiment bien son nom. Nice place, very calm but a little far from Hikkaduwa. Transport needed to go to Hikkaduwa. We had booked 3 nights and was thinking of staying 4 nights. The welcome was very warm from the owner. She seemed very nice at first time. We, two friends, had reserved a cabanne (little house) without A/C and quite small which we changed on arrival into two single rooms after the owner made us an offer, for the double of the price paid but as it was our last days we wanted to be chilled and in a beautiful place, with a proper and clean bathroom and the rooms were fulfilling that. One of the rooms had A/C and a sealing ventilator, the other room was fitted exactly the same but neither the A/C was working nor the sealing ventilator and instead a normal ventilator was in place. It was fine for us as A/C was not a must although. She had recommended it to us. My friend who took the room with A/C explained that she doesn’t use A/C to sleep and she would only use the A/C to cool down the room before sleep (max 10 min). The owner appeared nice and happy with that. On the first day my friend was several times asked by an employee for the room key to take out the remote control for the A/C as needed for other rooms. We agreed to leave the remote control outside as no one should enter in the room without us. Specially when we were not there. During our stay a friend came to visit us and passed to into the bathroom of one room for physical needs, the owner was, as always present and watching, straight away exposed she was not happy and said afterwards no visits should pass into the rooms but could be in the common area. Our friend stood in the common area with us, we were directly observed at all times seated in a chair in front of us watching us. Nevertheless during our whole stay we felt observed at all times by her as every time we were at the pool or going to beach she was there or on a chair or behind a tree.
