This 3,5-star breakfast only hotel is located directly at the white sandy beach of the Baltic Sea. All double rooms enjoy panoramic views over the bay and are equipped with a private bath inclusive shower, flat-screen TV, radio, telephone, hairdryer and in-room safe. The single rooms offer land view. The hearty breakfast buffet is served in the historical art-deco ballroom, which was built in the early thirties for the purpose of award ceremonies for sailing events in 1936. The hotel terrace is the ideal spot for breakfast and drinks throughout the day while watching the yachts glide by. The sauna with a marvelous view towards beach and sea invites for pure relaxation. Free Wi-Fi is available in all areas of the property. The medieval historical town of Eckernfoerde as well as the train station are a 5-minute walk away. Kiel, the capital of Schleswig-Holstein, Kappeln, Schleswig can be reached within 30 minutes by car. Eckernfoerde is the ideal starting point not only for fans of the Baltic Sea, but also for exploring northern Schleswig-Holstein with e.g. cultural visits to the many state museums, country estates, Haithabu, hikes in the Huettener mountains, Windeby Noor, day trips to the North Sea coast, as well as enjoyment of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Green Screen Film Festival, sailing events or practicing sporting activities such as golfing, horseback riding, snorkeling.

Wonderful location with a comfortable walk to the town, lovely rooms and terrace, friendly helpful staff. Room cleaning staff considerate and friendly. A good choice for breakfast. Just a suggestion not a dislike..Tea/coffee making facilities in the room - often provided in other German hotels would have been a nice edition, however there is possibly an environmental reason for these not being provided. Just a suggestion not a dislike...Could a combined hair and body wash and not just body wash be provided in the bathroom? Bathroom sink and bath drainage could benefit from a deep clean and removal of hair and soap build up as the draining was very slow. Both drains did have an unpleasant smell.

The view from the hotel window was great and we loved the Strandkorb-style bed! The original design breakfast room was also a highlight. The breakfast selection itself was also very good - lots of choice and high quality.

1.Location - right on the beach!! Loved this most! And it's on the promenade which leads to restaurants and more beach activities, 2. Staff - every staff member we encountered seemed genuine and wanted us to enjoy Seelust as if it were their own home. 3. Breakfast - so many delicious choices!! Hot and cold, hearty and light, it was all so good! Linens and ambience was informally formal...nice table sets yet not so formal that it was imposing. Everything was kept pristine. This puts American breakfasts that are included with the stay to shame! I cannot think of anything at this point...

close to the sea. nice clean rooms. staff are very friendly. dog friendly with water bowl and dog biscuit in room had to take breakfast in a side room because of dog. no big problem but we were initially in a corner far away from food
