Property located centrally in Ercolano, giving access to Herculaneum archeological park. Ideally suited to use the Circumvansia rail network, giving easy access to Pompeii, Naples and Sorrento. From Sorrento you can also get to Amalfi and Positano either by coach, Vespa or boat. Importantly hosted by Franco and his family, giving an authentic warm Italian welcome, which really makes the experience worthwhile….. The facilities are ideal as a base for a holiday adventurer backpacker. The views of Vesuvius and the bay of Naples are spectacular, to say the least….. You need to be relatively fit to manage the walk from the train station back to the B&B…. But it isn’t a problem. The sights of Herculaneum, Pompeii, Sorrento, Vesuvius, Positano and Amalfi are impressive to say the least. The surrounding areas of Ercolano and Naples are a genuine experience of Italian life and culture, bustling, busy vibrant with wealth side by side of real life challenges.

host, location

The location is good. It’s close to the Nationalpark and to the excavations in Ercolano (if you have a car). The hosts don’t speak any English, we could only communicate via booking messenger which was exhausting because first I had the wrong address and couldn’t find the place. The host‘s son(?) made fun of me parking my car when I arrived. The room is super tacky, really very ugly furnishing and decorations. Breakfast is a pre packaged dry bread and spreads, Coffee/tea in to go cups all in a wooden box to take out yourself, all very loveless. The bathroom especially the shower is very small. The area is very grungy, dirty and there is garbage everywhere. It’s not a good place to stay with a dog. There are too many glass shards. It’s very expensive for what you get. All in all, I wouldn’t stay there again and rather have a longer drive to see the sights. I really hated it there.

The b&b is located super nice between Mt. Vesuv and the sea. The Host is super friendly and offenes to take us to the Station several times which reduced the number of walks. The room itself only has a small window which is located very high on the wall. The station is about 25 min Walk away.

Everything was perfect! Before arriving we got answer to all our questions (we had a lot :-) ) We arrived after midnight and the owner waited for us awake to arrive. The room was new and clean, the shower was great and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was varied and tasty! The owner even suggested to assist us if it would be rainy. Would definitely come here again! :-) Nothing

The Cozzolino’s are amazing! My boyfriend and I stayed at their B&B our last night in Naples and we wish we had stayed there the whole time. Even though it was a hike to get up the hill to where they live, it was well worth it. The view on the terrace was BEAUTIFUL. You can see from Naples all the way to Sorrento, and when you turn around, Mt. Vesuvius. We really enjoyed our stay with the most kind, generous and fantastic hosts. They even let us stay for a couple of hours after checking out before our train and on top of that, Franco gladly drove us to the train station. We accidentally took the keys with us and they had to come all the way to Naples to get them from us, which we felt horrible about, but they still had a smile on their faces. A once in a lifetime experience at La Casasetta di Ester!
