The staff upon check in was friendly and attentive. The parking garage, while it does exist, is in a rough condition and does not have any walk ways other than the entrance to the hotel. My room was on one of the upper floors and it was clean. However, the window has a gap between the two window panes that makes the noise from the wind at night loud enough that you need ear plugs or headphones to block it out. There is also a restaurant listed as being in this hotel but it is no longer in operation. If you are staying in Evanston to be in Evanston, it does have a nice central location with everything being walkable from right out of the front door. With some renovations around the property it could be really nice. As for now its just a decent place to stay for the price.

Everyone at the hotel, especially the front desk, were was very helpful & friendly. The housekeepers said Good Morning’ in the hallways. My first time in Chicago & I would stay here again.

Friendly stuff and quiet place

Great place to stay while visiting Chicago. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location is great and just a quick walk to the L and the town of Evanston is very walkable. Never felt nervous or unsafe, felt like a college town. We opted to include breakfast which was nice and they had very good bacon. This hotel was older and a bit dated but our room was clean. If we are in the Chicago area again, would definitely look at staying here again.

Excellent location for us. Staff was very nice and maid service excellent. Breakfast buffet ($10) was pedestrian but there are several great bakery/cafes within a couple blocks. Bed was slight saggy but comfortable. Good shower. Parking next door was pricey but for no discernible reason, we were charged half the normal rate .

Room was changed and got put in room that shared a wall with elevator shaft. Heard dings and noise continually from 5am. Lobby was good and breakfast was very good for $10. Parking good and priced well.

The entrance to hotel and parking are a bit difficult to maneuver. Same entrance and exit to garage parking and built with a steep entrance. Accessing parking garage with luggage carts is also difficult and can only be done from 1 level. Staff was friendly and professional throughout stay.

We stay here almost every year and our experience is always good. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room is clean. There really are no amenities, but the neighborhood is walkable and has lots of restaurants and pubs. I highly recommend it.

A great stay and loves the quietness of Evanston , away from the chaos of the city !

The staff were absolutely wonderful and helpful. Just didn’t feel very clean or well-maintained in general: sticky surfaces, poorly vacuumed carpets, spiderwebs, scuffed furniture, pool looked indefinitely closed.
-
Clean room. Secure area with many restaurants within walking distance.

The breakfast is good and healthy

It was dirty. Most staff not friendly. Very old and outdated. More like a motel. Super unhappy

Pleasant atmosphere. Good service from staff. I would stay here again. Property is a little dated and could use some upgrades.

The location was convenient. We had no hot water on the first morning. Upon reporting it to the desk clerk, we were told “I’m not responsible.” While it was fixed for 2 days, we had no hot water on the last morning and the desk clerk said, “too full, too much people.” Except for one desk clerk, who checked us in, and the greeter at breakfast, the staff was exceedingly rude. The elevators did not work properly, my husband was stuck in one for a time. The hotel is old, outdated, and reeked of weed on our floor.

proximity to Graduation

There was no hot water Monday morning and no sense of urgency to repair. I was told the engineer doesn’t come in until 7am. Unfortunately my uber pick up was 7:05, so my family was unable to shower. Unacceptable
