The staff were very polite and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. The room was excellent and the view from both our balcony and from the poolside breakfast tables was absolutely stunning. Moreover, the sunsets were spectacular. Upon checking out (after 6 days), the receptionist requested that I cancel the booking.com reservation (against which I had already paid via my payment method) and asked if I could pay her directly. Somewhat confused, I politely declined.

Excellent location. What a view from every balcony!! Made our mornings. Very close to good market area - 10 mins walk from the property. Good restaurants are close by. Room was huge, comfortable for a family of 4. The hotel is located on a cliff, so climbing or going down the stairs might be difficult for some people. For us, it was not at all a problem. The reception is run by a lady Maria & her daughter. Very unprofessional people. First day, they asked me to cancel the reservation from Booking.com and pay them directly, and in return they offered first day’s free breakfast, since we had checked in early. We refused, as we were not convinced. Finally on our checkout, they gave us a bill of €25 pp (total €75 for 3 people including a child) for first day’s breakfast. We think it was not at all reasonable for the quality of breakfast provided, and also they never disclosed the price of the breakfast to us ever since day one. They even do not have it written or mentioned anywhere. Bathroom was constantly stinking like sewage, and the cleaning lady tried to fix it for us when we raised the concern, but still the problem persisted. Breakfast was just ok - very limited options for vegetarians. Contained tea, instant coffee. Some ordinary (not fresh) bread, cheese slices, greek yoghurt and juice. No milk, no fruits, and we got some cereals only when we asked for.

The place was amazing.. we had the whole view. Not that many guest in november. We were almost alone. The breakfast was ok. I wish they had an inside place to eat vreakfast since it was a bit chilly in the morning when they serve breakfast outside. We shared all 5 in one room. Bed was good. The location, view, pool.

With this place it’s all about the view. The guys that delivers the breakfast and lugs the bags around is nice if you make the effort ( I’m sure he puts up with a lot ) and knows how to work . Nice enough room and killer views Arriving at reception I got asked to cancel my booking , pay in cash and get a discount , plus a free transfer . I’d already paid via my card so didn’t want to complicate things and end up paying twice, plus I already got a good deal and was happy . That didn’t go down too well. I was then asked for €10 in cash for city tax ( for 2 nights stay ? I paid . Then I found out it’s €.0.50 for a 2 star property . I did query this when I Checked out . I was told it was a national tax . That’s is not even a thing . Basically ripped off. If your reading this , stop trying to extract more cash from your guests . Have some respect , it’s 2024. Nice view for the price but don’t need the cons . Plenty other nice places folks ..won’t be back .

    - Amazing location! Far from the crazy crowds of downtown Fira, yet so close to restaurants and amazing views. - A great view of the caldera (hint: the upper levels are the best ones), the sea and the boats and cruise ships. - Great layout, almost vertical and of course it does have a lot of stairs: I loved this as I travelled light plus the staff carried my luggage. The rooms have their own balconies with tables and shade. The breakfast at the pool was also a beautiful experience due to the amazing view. - The staff: @ The guy from Georgia: “Gamarjoba!”, my friend :-) I would recommend raising his salary regularly as you don’t want to lose such an employee to the competition. He was doing everything: he carried heavy luggage up and downstairs (mind you some people were travelling with check in luggage). He served breakfast and cleaned tables. He was bringing in and carrying out stuff for the hotel. Other reviews said he wasn’t smiling… sure, but did you try showing that you care about him! Then you’ll see a nice big smile throughout your stay. @ The ladies at the reception desk: “Kalimera koritsia” They were nice and really helpful arranging transfers from and to the airport. Sure, the hotel transfer price was more expensive than booking the taxi from Booking, but I preferred to pay a little extra and have a smooth experience (I have previously heard unpleasant feedback on local taxi services). They were also super helpful addressing a misconception on additional taxes between the hotel management and Booking (the hotel management thought we should pay additional taxes, while Booking service agents on the phone insisted that we have already paid them through Booking and nothing more should be paid). Both ladies were amazing and ensured this was sorted out in an ethical manner, compliant with the contract between the hotel and Booking.com. “Evharisto poli, filoi mou!” I liked everything. If anything could be improved it would be the skills of the cleaning staff. They were working hard and I saw them every single morning spending time cleaning the rooms and changing towels, sheets etc. As a next step in their professional development, I would recommend focusing on technique and details. When I stepped in our room for the first time we saw that it was cleaned, however there were residues left in different places. I hopped over to the nearby corner store and bought some cleaning items: I disinfected the toilet seat (some fingerprints there) and the cutlery. I cleaned the sinks, the desk and the night stand, the chairs, the shelves in the shower room, the tough red stain on the bed sideboard (it was tough but I got it out) as well as the yellowish residue on and in the fridge. I put aside the decorative pillows, they visibly needed washing. Just like that with 1 hour of work the room was sparkling clean and I felt comfortable throughout my stay. This did not affect my enjoyment of my vacation in any way, but the moral of the story is: if I can do it in 60 minutes and I am just a regular messy dude, then the professional staff can do it too. @Cleaning staff, did I hear “Challenge accepted!” ? Great then, I’ll see how you progressed next time I visit.

view from our balcony was one of the most beautiful I have ever seen, great shower and location. One of the nicer hotel pools I have ever been in. breakfast could have been a bit improved with some more options

Above all, the Caldera view is an unbeatable "plus". Having a balcony was a nice touch to relax overlooking the sea view -- perusing the cruise ships in the morning, watching the unforgettable sunsets and enjoying the lights of the evening. The pool was a welcome spot to relax after a day of exploring the sights. The stairs are an obvious but understandable challenge that comes with the bonus of a spectacular caldera view. Much quieter area compared to Fira without compromise to the Caldera experience. The hotel is conveniently located for shopping, dining and nearness to the taxi stop. The reception upon arrival was rocky as was our departure. Lack of assistance with our luggage at both points, in spite of clearly communicating the specifics of our arrival time and departure time created some unpleasantry. A bit more variety for breakfast would be nice but the breakfast view makes up for it all.

Stunning location in a perfect spot close to everything. Top rooms get the best view which is totally awesome ? Pick up from airport definitely worth booking as made it so easy. Great pool area & so quiet Check in was a bit laboured as changed rooms to get the top floor. However the ladies were lovely & it all worked out.

Amazing view to the Caldera The receptionist asked me to pay in cash

The views were as advertised, absolutely stunning! Staff and management were friendly and helpful. Rooms were basic, but comfortable, clean and well-maintained daily. Each unit has a balcony area with table/chairs to enjoy the mesmerizing views with your family/friend travelling companions. Breakfasts were repetitive but satisfying (we stayed for 7 days). Pool was large and refreshing on hot days, pool lounge chairs were always available during our stay with great views of the caldera/ sea. Several nearby restaurants, cafes, and street food in Firostefani only steps away. From my perspective, the most unique thing about Santorini is the beautiful view of the caldera overlooking the volcano, sea and distant islands. This is why one visits Santorini and why it is so popular and renowned. This hotel provides you with the most compelling reason to visit Santorini, the stunning views. No doubt one could find hotels with more luxurious rooms, restaurants etc. with a much higher price tag. But if you need to make trade-offs, as most of us do, and plan to spend most of your time outside of your room either relaxing by pool or on your balcony, or island sightseeing, or shopping, or dining in a variety of restaurants nearby or across the island, then I think you will be hard-pressed to find better value than this hotel. For my money, it’s all about the view in Santorini, and this hotel does not disappoint. Nothing noteworthy, we enjoyed our stay immensely. Slight inconvenience with wifi, it tended to drop connection relatively quickly during periods of non-use, requiring reconnection and password re-entry. Never an issue during use and no issue reconnecting, just an inconvenience. A note about the steps. The hotel’s rooms are distributed across 6 levels beneath the town’s main pathway. The highest room level is about 50 steps from the main pathway above. The lowest floor about 100 steps. If you have mobility challenges, you should probably consider an alternative to this or any other hotel with such steps. If you don’t have mobility issues, it should not be an issue. The hotel assisted us with carrying our bags down upon arrival, and we managed to handle them ourselves when departing. A hint if you are staying here, there are 2 sets of steps to access the hotel, one on either side of the hotel. Use the set on the north side of the building, which can be accessed between the Vanilia and DaVinci restaurants on the main pathway. This set has much smoother and consistent steps and provides access to each floor/level of the hotel. We found these easier to navigate. On the south side of the building, the steps are very rugged and inconsistent and I believe take you all the way down to the lowest level where the reception is and will require you to walk up again to rooms above reception (which are most of the rooms). We only took the south steps once, so I could be mistaken about whether you can access all floors from this set. But the north side were easier to navigate.
