The room was spotless and beautifully decorated in a traditional Italian style. The canopy bed, high ceilings, and elegant bathroom created a charming atmosphere. Everything was very clean and well maintained. There is also a lovely terrace with a great view where guests can enjoy dinner in the evening. Another nice feature is the shared kitchen and dining area, where guests can make tea or coffee, enjoy some complimentary snacks, and even try a local liqueur. There is also an honesty bar with alcoholic drinks available for purchase. Unfortunately, despite all these positive aspects, our experience at check-out left a very negative impression and significantly affected my overall rating. After checking out, we were allowed to leave our luggage for a few hours before our train departure. When we returned to collect it, we paid the city tax and asked the owner whether we could sit in the dining area for an hour or two to eat the food we had just bought before heading to the station. We were not asking for any additional services, only a place to sit at a table for a short time. The owner, who had already kept us waiting outside because our WhatsApp messages went unanswered for quite a while, seemed clearly unhappy to see us. He vaguely explained that this was “not a hotel” and that we could not stay there. It felt as if, the moment we had paid everything owed, we were no longer considered guests. As a result, we ended up sitting outside the building with our suitcases, eating our sandwiches on the street. What made this particularly disappointing was that throughout our stay and in the property’s description there was a strong emphasis on hospitality, flexibility, and the idea that guests

Wonderful wonderful wonderful! Location was amazing, staff was SO kind and provided so many recommendations. Hotel is so cute and lovely. Already already recommended to family members who are traveling to Florence.

A true Florence gem. Daniele and Alessia are wonderful hosts who make you feel more like a guest in their home than a visitor at a hotel. Their local recommendations were spot-on, and the rooftop terrace was the perfect place to unwind in the evening. The hotel sits just beyond the heart of the city, about 10 minutes walk from the Duomo and a longer walk to Piazzale Michelangelo, which gave it a quieter, more neighborhood feel. As a solo traveler, I felt completely safe. An unforgettable stay! Wasn’t a problem for me, but other travelers may want to be aware of the walking distance to places like Piazzale Michelangelo (45 minute walk).

Feeling secure with the hosts professionalism. Just a text away for any request. Cozy Lounging areas to savor upscale snacks. Loved the rooftop deck. Even saw a beautiful rainbow our last checkout day. Ate at 3 best restaurants within a 5 minute walk back to our lovely room. Highly recommend!! Entry steps before elevator. But that seemed to be quite common in these gorgeous historic buildings.

Original, old and so beautiful. Loved the atmosphere, the paintings or photos on the walls. Nothing!

The owners and staff went above and beyond—helping us find restaurants, and activities and even train tickets to our next destination. The hospitality was exceptional, the amenities were delicious, and the accommodations were beautiful. Highly recommend! We plan to stay here again on our next visit to Florence.

good location, helpful info from staff, clean

Felt like a boutique hotel; great amenities such as lovely rooftop deck; comfortable common room with beverages, cookies, coffee, tea; warm, prompt, accurate service/recommendations from the hostess; great location - within easy walking distance from the Centro yet in a quiet area; availability of a lift for our bags

Super nice super helpful host. Excellent room. Great location. It was perfect

The owners, Alessa and husband Danielle were lovely! They were full of information and helped us with restaurant recommendations and Florence tips! The property is in a wonderful location and our room was extremely clean and cozy! Snacks and drinks were always available in the “gathering room”. However, we used the rooftop terrace many times for a cup of coffee or glass of wine and it could use some spiffing up! Overall, we would highly recommend Antiche Dimore Johlea as it made our stay in Florence magical! Tiny elevator

The hosts Daniele and Alessi were amazing. We were trying to get there while train strikes were going on and they were wonderful in getting us from the train station to the tram to their area... great care taking of my mom and I. Daniele gave us a great tour. I can't think of anything they didn't think of including a quiet area to socialize or relAx in on another floor. Refreshments and many other treats for guests. The room was so clean and many amenities. The bathroom is clean, nice and a wonderful decor. It's larger than most others we stayed in during our trip. The beds were comfortable. the roof patio was great for watching the sunset and taking beautiful roof top photos of Firenze. The hosts really add to this location recommendation. On thing we didn't expect was the service of making dinner reservations, pastry and gelato recommendations, and more. He is like a walking tour guide when it came to directing us to some of the places we wanted to walk to. He also made sure we had a reliable taxi very early in the morning of our departure. Don't be scared away when you see it's on the third floor, there is a smooth, well working elevator that adds to the flavor of the lovely old building. Highly recommend... this is the place ! We left there a week ago and I still can't come up with a negative to staying here :)

Everything was very clean and well maintained. The management did everything they could to be helpful. Room was cleaned everyday and fresh towels as needed. I wish every place I stayed tried so hard to please the customers. I liked everything

Great hotel, amazing location right in the center, close to everything. Nice historical building, good price, nice cookies and coffee machine in the 'lobby'.

What an amazing place to stay. The staff could not have been more helpful providing great information about how to enjoy your visit to florance. They are more than happy to help with bookings and advice. The accommodation is superb with a lovely setting. Only 6 rooms makes the place family friendly. A gorgeous roof terrace provides amazing views over the city you won't get in many other places. Less than 5 minutes from the T2 tram and just 30 minutes direct from city airport make it easy access. Then 10 minutes walk and your in tha heart of the city. Who could ask for more.
