This was a really nice location for exploring all the big must see spots of Florence. It was also across the street from a laundromat, which my husband used, and from a hair salon, which I used for a wash and blow dry. The room was a nice size with a pretty fresco on the ceiling. The shower was small but that's to be expected. We got in late and the room had no toilet paper and no towels and no soap. They quickly rectified this the next morning as well as replacing our janky fridge but it was very annoying and an extra chore to worry about getting the next morning. The breakfast area was in a pretty room surrounded by a narrow balcony. This b&b is in a historic building that has other businesses and tenants on lower floors and there's a courtyard with a spa (not affiliated with the b&b). The room AC worked great. We didn't use the TV but the wifi and (replaced) fridge worked just fine. It was a quiet oasis from the hot craziness that was Florence. the building itself is gorgeous. marble everywhere, amazing gigantic and old wrought iron light fixtures, quirky rooms and spots. They do warn you but nothing prepares you for FOUR flights of marble stairs after a long ass day of traveling with suitcases and they were in a heatwave in July that was so bad even locals were complaining. After the 3rd flight of stairs bringing up my luggage, I was so sweaty and exhausted I actually thought about abandoning my suitcase forever right there on the landing and wishing well any thief stupid enough to want my crap. My suitcase being heavy is 100% on me, but think about how heavy even a backpack is going to feel in 90+ Fahrenheit after a long day of traveling. The coffee was kind of garbage, the espresso machine water wire thingy seemed kinda dirty so we stayed away. The food was bland and cold and surprisingly flavorless. It was fine in order to get over any long night travel/early rising starvation but I'd recommend eating somewhere else. It is important to notice that this place is NOT staffed 24 hours per day and that can affect your plans or need to ask for help. For example, we couldn't get our phones to work to call a taxi (long story) and there was no one around to assist. We were pretty frantic and finally thought to just send a WhatsApp. Luckily, the staff was so great that even on their day off they responded and helped us and thank goodness they did because due to a special event no taxi stands were operating, taxi companies hung up on us when hearing english, and uber wasn't a thing in this town. I'll also note that getting into the building to begin with late at night (like 11pm or later) due to our delayed flights and this place having no staffing was an absolute BEAR. They don't give you the "code" to get in until the day before or few hours before your arrival time. That was fine but they forgot to account for the fact there's a locked gate to even get into the building, nevermind the coded door on the 4th floor where the rooms and check-in are located. The code this B&B gives you is for AFTER you are in the building and on the 3rd or 4th floor. We stood around helplessly trying to figure out what the hell to do when thank goodness a lovely Spanish couple happen to decide on a nightcap and opened the gate for us. For the rest of our stay residents left that outer gate open but no key card or code works for it that we could tell-you have to be a resident/tenant. Also, there is no luggage storage (again no 24 hour staffing to help with that). Our flight wasn't until like 7pm the day of checkout.

The room was beautiful with a painting on the ceiling, nicely decorated and clean. Breakfast was good and the breakfast room was also lovely. It’s very close to the Duomo which was great. The hotel is advertised as having parking. This is a lie. There is a parking garage across the street that has nothing to do with the hotel that charges 40€ per day, and your car is being taken outside of the city. The hotel itself is at the very top of the building. You have to climb 72 steps, which is a great ordeal with luggage. If we had known this beforehand, then we would have definitely booked a different hotel. There was no information provided before check in and when we got there, we stood in front of a closed door with no staff on the premises.

Location was good 1. Check-in was incredibly disorganized with very little signposting. We arrived in the middle of the afternoon (2pm) and there was no one at reception -- only a business whatsapp number that does not support phone calls, only texts! We texted that number, the message was read and no one responded for a good 15 minutes. Now imagine that you've lugged your heavy suitcases up 4 flights of stairs, it is the middle of the afternoon, you've got reservations for places to go to, and no one is responding to your message requesting to check in. What would you do then? I cannot stress enough how unpleasant of an experience it was. Since no one was responding on WhatsApp, we had to buy phone credit in order to dial an Italian number before we could get hold of someone. Even then, no apology or explanation was offered. 2. Facilities are poor. The AC broke down in the middle of our stay and no help was offered. If the AC does not break down, the remote might since the batteries are old and need changing. It is 35-40C in Florence right now, you'll need very high heat tolerance to survive this room. 3. No lift. You'll have to carry your suitcase up 4 floors to get to the rooms. Finally... Florence is a big tourist city with plenty of options. Don't be deceived by the nice pictures or colorful murals of this B&B, it is truly not worth the hassle. There are lots of other places that would take your money and give you much better service (and working AC).

It is a safe location. The people on was comfortable. Nice breakfast. Helpful staff. It’s on the 4th floor. Lots of stairs. The staff is not always on the premises.
-
Perfect location, in the center of all the tourist interests, yet in a calm building, great helpful staff, beautiful room. Breakfasts were nice. Big thanks for the possibility of keeping there the luggage on the departure day. (Only one tiny minus for the shower head, which is only as a plate on the ceiling. Not handy for woman personal hygiene..)

Very helpful personnel and very close to the center.

Excellent customer service. We had to check in incredibly late due to a change in schedules and the host was very understanding and helped us with every step of the way. Functional room. We didn't get one of the rooms shown in the pictures with the ornate decor but it was really nicely equipped and with modern appliances. Perfectly good breakfast. We booked the room with breakfast included and it was a small but quite nice selection of food. The best part for me was the freshly ground coffee. Nothing, everything was perfect.

Very central, simple breakfast included Some days we didn’t have hot water in the shower, room is quite run down, walls are dirty There were mosquitoes at night, luckily fumigator was included

Daniele was a great host, and was friendly and knowledgeable. The room size was good, and everything was clean and in good working order. The location is terrific, and I really enjoyed the beautiful old building. The air conditioning was either not working well, or not placed in the correct place, but even having it on for several hours before sleeping, it did not cool the room down to the 18 degrees celsius that it said it was at. The room was too warm, and as the air conditioning unit was not above the bed, it was not effective. The breakfast wasn't great.
