Great beachfront hotel. We loved Pinky's (beachfront restaurant/ bar) and the proximity to the Folly Pier. It was a lovely stay.

No balconies, swimming pool small, no microwaves, refrigerator small, lobby noises, elevators worked inconsistently on several days. Positive staff was helpful and nice

Overall the Tides is a nice place to stay. The location, onsite restaurants, and walkability to all Folly has to offer is wonderful. We had a premium oceanfront room, so the view was great, especially close to the pier. The Tides does need to update the rooms & clean them better, however. Our room & bedding smelled musty. Mattress was on the harder side. The refrigerator was super tiny, and leftover boxes wouldn’t fit. For the price point, we expected a little more. We still enjoyed our stay & can’t wait to come back to the area.

We just had a great stay here. The pool area was well maintained and always had clean towels. Being right on the beach was great and it was also great parking was included. It was nice to watch the sunrise from the balcony each morning. The only complaint is I didn't realize they charge a $24/night resort fee before booking. Maybe I overlooked it though.

The beach is very nice, chairs are included which is a nice perk. Many restaurants within walking distance.

The hotel is woefully outdated - nothing like advertised on the website. The on-site restaurant "Pinkey's" was horrible. The first time we went there we had to seek out a hostess to be seated. The second time we waited 15 mins at the outside bar for a bartender. When she didn't show, we went looking for one, only to be treated as if we were interrupting their day. Mind you there were other guests, with drinks seated at the bar. Overcooked, overpriced, and the drinks were watered down. We had to ask for room service (towels, water, toilet paper, trash removal) daily; it's like we were forgotten. There were never towels at the pool. If you plan to start your beach day before 10 a.m. get your towels the day before because the pool does not open until 10 a.m.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful ocean view. Very nice beach. Plumbing needs some work and parts of the hotel could use a facelift. Foot/auto traffic around the hotel can be stressful.

This hotel is very rundown and needs to be updated. Our phone and half the phones were not working, but there was attempt to fix them. The balcony light went on on its own. It was very bright and we were told that we could not turn it off ourselves and had to wait for it to be fixed, even though it was late at night. There was nothing special about this hotel, other than it was located on the beach.

We had a great time. Everything was so perfect. Only negative was that I didn’t see a vending machine so if everything in the hotel is closed there is no water or drinks. So we should have better prepared for that. But other than that it was great.

No gym. Get a higher up floor so you are not listening to the pool music/noise. Our balcony was too small to hang out on and no furniture, so not really a usable feature. No fan in bathroom or in room so humidity makes everything damp, including the floor and all clothes and towels. Need to bring your own beach towels or buy them there. Housekeeping very illusive, but if you call the front desk they will bring you a “towel set”, which consists of a washcloth, a hand towel and a child’s towel. Location is great as are the complimentary beach chairs and the breakfast cafe.

Great beachfront hotel. Pricey as hell but fun place. Staff is very friendly!
