Tides Folly Beach, Charleston's Oceanfront Hotel

The room's floor was always wet and cold make it slippery, the balcony’s doesn’t have any chairs or furniture, very inconvenient and unconfortable that the administration didn’t allow to use the pool towels at the beach and the only restaurant didn’t serve breakfast, they open at 11 am with lunch menu.

The elevators were out of service a majority of the stay, especially at check in and check out. Had to tote our luggage up the steps to the fourth floor. Multiple nights it was hard to get any rest due to the loud music coming from Pinky's. Housekeeping never took out the trash in our room during our stay either and there was trash left out in the breezeway outside of rooms multiple times during the week.

Great deal for a full service beachfront hotel. Nice quiet atmosphere. No late night noise.

Everything was clean, comfortable, and made for an easy beach getaway. Being able to walk straight out to the ocean and then enjoy the restaurants and bars nearby was a huge plus. I would definitely stay at Tides again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay on Folly Beach.

Excellent view from room. That is what you pay for. Room was clean with enough towels. Beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows. Front desk staff, it really depended on who was working, most were helpful but one was not, so we chalked it up to being overwhelmed with check-ins and check-outs. Pinky's had great food and fun vibe. What can they do better? The balcony is a Juliette balcony, you cannot sit on it, only stand, so it was a bit disappointing. Further, the patio door didnt close all the way, and didnt lock, so some of the heat from outside forced its way in. The air conditioner worked, but it was very loud. Earplugs helped. I dont think we'd stay again, the hotel seems a little weathered, but we made the best of it.

Floor was dirty/gritty. Air conditioning unit was VERY noisy. Room was very damp, especially at night, to the point of making clothes feel damp.

The beach view unobstructed. Rooms outdated and noisy. Had to change rooms and the staff nice about it but no one to help my handicapped mother. There was always 1 of 2 elevators broken and their cleaning staff took the elevator, no service elevator. I was very disappointed with my stay overall. The wait staff excellent though.

This was my first time staying at The Tides hotel. The staff was excellent and rooms were very comfortable and clean! The free beach chairs were great and the clerk text me to remind me to return the chairs by 6pm. The sundry store in the lobby had everything I needed including medicine and a Starbucks latte at 6am! I talked to other guests who told me they were impressed with the hotel, visiting for the first time as well. During a very bad thunderstorm, the lights went out for a few seconds which caused the elevators to trip off, but the staff immediately texted all the guests asking if they needed assistance and provided a short time to restoration which they met.
