Beautiful surroundings

Food was awesome and service was stupendous. The place is kinda old and gives off that 90s yet traditional vibe.

Simply beautiful food, hotel, and staff were very kind.

Gorgeous, clean, good food, kind staff. Big room. Loved the Sauna areas. Great location for seeing Fuji, relaxing, biking. Breakfasts were a little different for a westerner, but that was to be expected.

I loved the tatami room, and the private bath that I had. I especially love that there was a roof deck where I could see Fujisan from

It was a beautiful place to stay. Breakfast had a gorgeous view of the water and the rooftop view of the lake and mountains was just stunning. Our room was cozy with an amazing view as well. We loved the Kaiseki dinners, they were well organized and catered. Staff was so friendly and welcoming. I would definitely come back again to stay here. This was our first visit to Japan and first nonwestern hotel stay we've had and we were definitely impressed and in awe. We might be biased because this was our first ryokan stay, but we were pleasantly surpised. Nothing we didn't like. This stay was my favorite part of our entire trip. It is a bit dated but not in a bad way, in a vintage retro sort of way that made us feel like we traveled back in time- which was cool.

Yukata sadly didn't fit me. Just me getting over a cold didn't help my appetite and I felt bad not finishing my delicious food.

The location and views were great. We didn’t have Fuji view, but the lake view was actually better. It was very quiet around the property. Our first room had a ton of bugs in the beds so we asked to be moved. Although very reluctantly, they did eventually move us - the new room had no bugs but still was very dusty and unclean. You have to understand what you’re signing up for, when staying at a ryokan. There are so many rules that cannot be bent even slightly. Any request we had with the hotel staff, the answer was always “no”. As I understand the rules and customs of a traditional Japanese hotel, it’s still a place where people stay, where guests should feel welcome and perhaps like their wishes are respected and considered. Next time we will stay at a hotel.

The dinner was amazing and it was wonderful to have it served in our room. A memorable experience for us. We liked everything. And we like the fact that the baths get moved around so that everyone can see Mount Fuji from the onsen during a one night stay.

Everything about the stay was wonderful. Location is great. Very relaxed and quiet place. Shuttle transportation from station to hotel is a big help. We did find the facilities a bit dated, and upon check-in, we weren’t given clear instructions by the receptionist about meal times. Additionally, the front desk was not very accommodating when we needed help retrieving luggages from the train station. Overall, it was a memorable experience for the onsen and food, but a few customer service improvements would make it even better.

This ryokan is heaven on earth. We cannot describe the level of service and care this team puts into its visitor’s stays. From the food to the traditional room with view of Mount Fuji, this hotel was the pentacle of perfection. The staff is so kind and go out of their way to make every moment perfect. The food was exquisite and served with care. Beautiful dishes that highlight Japan’s culinary excellence. We recommend booking the private onsen at check in and walking around the little town and parks in the area. We were blown away by this property and our stay. Thank you so much for making this such an extra special trip for us. We left feeling relaxed and also educated on what a traditional Japanese ryokan experience really is,

Everythung was perfect, from the hotel to the staff to the views. Food was very unique as well and different every day. That i couldnt stay longer.

Room is a dated but well mentained

We booked this for the Japanese experience but were disappointed. I suggest booking a hotel and eating at a decent restaurant. The lake view and cherry blossoms at the nearby park were very nice. The hotel needs an update. On our recent trip to Japan, we stayed in a number of hotels with class A baths - not so much here. The Prefix dinner and breakfasts seemed pre-made and not as fresh as other meals we had in Japan. I would not recommend this hotel.

Breakfast and dinner are excellent. A bit difficult to get to.

Lovely stay. The hotel staff are very friendly and take great care of you. The rooms are comfortable. We chose to stay in the traditional ryokan room for the experience and it was very comfortable. The daily food spread is fantastic. We have never experienced such a display of creativity, thought and presentation of food at the meal time. Amazing!! Also I’m a vegetarian and while they cld not make separate dishes for me, I had options to eat at every meal and never went hungry for my entire stay. The outdoor onsen experience is humbling and truly amazing. The views of Mount Fuji or even just by the lakeside are forever etched in my memory. Thank you for having us. We hope to come back one day!
