The Millcroft Hotel

Staff were very welcoming, pleasant and helpful. Excellent location. Temperature in room too hot after turning radiator off. There was a radiator in hallway which was on till late in the night.

I was on a NC500 road trip and was struggling to find a location but came across the Millcroft. It had parking and was well positioned on the bay. Staff were really friendly. The place needs a bit of tlc as it’s dated . The room and bathroom were ok but had a bit of a musty feel. There was a good choice of evening food and breakfast also. Musty smell in room. Decor needs updating. Its in such a great location and with a bit of investment would be superb. This was the most expensive place on my trip and i expected a bit more.

Nothing We were booked into the double bedroom suite, which was clearly a work in progress. The bathroom looked as though it had been recently redone, it was lovely. The kitchen area was also lovely, but wasn’t equipped. The bedroom was also nice. The living area wasn’t so nice, it didn’t look finished to the standard of the other areas…….BUT the worst thing about this accommodation was the minute you opened the door the DAMP, MUSTY, DIRTY SMELL was inescapable, it was through every room and stuck to our belongings. We booked and stayed in several accommodation while on the NC500 and this was by far the most expensive and the worst accommodation we stayed in, very disappointing. I didn’t make my feelings know to the management, what I did do was research previous reviews and found similar thoughts on the accommodation, so I suspect the proprietor and management know that the double bedroom suite is stinking. I don’t know how the MILLCROFT is rated 8 on booking.com. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.

Amazing location right on the Loch side. Hotel was very quiet at night. Very dated rooms and common areas. Incredibly overpriced food (though curry was tasty). Staff were very average and I had to ask for several things like where restaurant was, where to sit etc (they didn't take initiative to show me)

A kitchenette that was partly empty, in that - no microwave, an empty cabinet where an oven will have been, NO fridge, when there is a hob and part oven. NO cutlery or crockery. Given that this was a suite that we paid for, I would have expected these little touches. BUT apart from that, the staff were absolutely lovely and fantastic and went above and beyond to help and make our stay comfy.

A pleasant stay overall. The hotel has plenty of character, although it feels a little dated in places. The food was good, the staff were friendly, and the price was reasonable.

No complaints. Breakfast was good. It was a little pricey.

The location was gorgeous! Breakfast was good and the main manager was exceptional for care and positivity towards us as guests. Room was quite small and stuffy.

Location is amazing. The curry dishes were excellent and very tasty. Can highly recommend. Although we had a good size room/ apartment, the double bed was very small and not comfortable at all. I did mention it when we checked out and I believe this will be addressed.

Location great, breakfast disappointing. Evening meal service extremely slow though views beautiful. Room access through multiple doors awkward. Slow meal service.

Great location and very nice staff food was not great for the price; could do with some renovations
