I love this beautiful mansion! Day and night it has different beauties made you feel like going back to 200 years ago, The room is huge and with access to the pool, it almost felt like a private garden. The staff is super helpful and lovely to guide you around. My favourite part is breakfast in the dinner room which is such an experience. Highly recommend this place to stay! None

Being in this beautiful place was an experience on its own. It’s one of those places I visited that will always stay in my memory, from the lovely details and striking contrast of colors to the beauty found in every corner of the mansion. Each space had its own unique charm and character. unbelievably photogenic, one of those unforgettable moments and places that remain with you forever.

It’s an amazingly historic and grand building, so unique and detailed and in a great location only a short walk into the famous old Penang streets. The rooms are huge and comfortable and the pool is a real bonus on hot days. Be aware that there are large tours in the public areas of the property twice a day but there are other private areas only for residents. The Indigo restaurant was expensive but very high quality, in a lovely historic dining room. It’s a fascinating place to stay and we loved it. The staff were great! It can be noisy until late from the busy nearby food court with music most nights. The informal Cafe Mangga was a little disappointing, food choice could perhaps be better, but it was a nice courtyard with live music most evenings.

The property is beautiful and very well maintained. The staff was very helpful and the rooms were nicely decorated with excellent air conditioning. There were daily tours which lent to large amounts of tourist but I do understand this being it is a UNESCO heritage building.

Our room was dark and quiet, actually overslept!!! The tours were a little annoying but it’s because the mansion is so cool so understandable.

Hotel was amazing! Beautiful architecture and very clean. We were treated as VIP’s with every interaction with staff. Breakfast was amazing. Well laid out with a very wide variety of delicious foods. If I had to name something, I’d say there was a bit of street noise but earplugs were provided. They thought of everything!

My husband and I stayed at Cheong Fatt Tze - The Blue Mansion for 3 nights. We couldn’t believe our eyes when we checked in. The place itself could be a museum, and in fact, they have guided tours every day that tourists pay for. And we were staying in this gorgeous historical mansion! They have kept as many of the original details as possible, while making sure guests have all the amenities they need. Every single member of the staff was so helpful and kind. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel is very well located, bang in the middle of George Town, with lots of restaurants, shops and bars close by. While it is an expensive hotel, you really are experiencing a slice of history, and service with a smile. I can’t recommend it enough. The food at the hotel, both breakfast and at Cafe Mangga, was okay. It lacked the flavour you can get at many restaurants close by. I suggest you step out for meals, but that’s the only thing I would say isn’t perfect at Cheong Fatt Tze - The Blue Mansion.

Magnificent mansion, beautifully decorated inside and externally, plenty of parking, polite staff, good bed with enough amenities. Very good location. Parts of the room are run down (see photos), breakfast is ok but less rich than is other hotels of this level, some staff members are not too friendly (while others are very nice). The minus is the cost which considering all pluses and minuses is too high.
