Kind of maybe unfair given the history of the building but the room had no natural light - all windows were boarded closed

The hotel serves continental breakfast, however they are happy to make eggs for the guests. The offerings were more than what we expected or needed. Location was great. The greatest assets to thus hotel is not just its history, it is the staff. Lingish, Chris, Bryan, Albert, El Lynn and all others were exceptionally good. Linens and bath robes were clearly frayed and looked very old and should be changed. While it did not bother me it may be an issue for others. I would recommend the hotel to do this minor improvement.

No invoice provided at checkout. First time ever I experience a Hilton affiliated hotel refusing to provide an invoice because the booking was through Booking.com instead of their own website. If providing an invoice is so much trouble for you, stop advertising hotel space through booking.com.

Design of the property, the 24-hour lounge, the breakfast and the hospitality from the staffs 1. The shower only has a short time period of hot water. 2. The ladder going down to floor 1 might be hard to visible at night. Hotel side might want to consider add the metal cover for the floor (the beginning of the ladder) or add some lighting for more visibility.

For us the hospitality was great and want to give a shout out to Albert and his team. Although it was a short stay it has been one of the best stays so far in Penang and we have stayed in many places. location was great there was parking complimentary light refreshments pool due to the preservation of the beautiful architecture just be very careful of the steep stairs. Its not neccesary a negative thing but with age catching up just need to be extra caution.

The hotel is small and cosy, and provides all the amenities i need. I loved the old colonial building vibe. The lounge with free flow of drinks and snacks was a bonus. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Slightly pricey, but overall it was worth it

Spacious room with lofty ceiling. Elegant authentic interior design of the historical mansion. Complimentary glass of wine & snacks in evening. Very helpful operational manager. Long flight of stairs to the upper floor rooms though their staff are quick to assist with luggage. No views from rooms as windows are locked with traditional textured glass.

Staff were SO helpful, service fantastic. We forgot to change room to ‘please service my room’ after asking for privacy but they came even at the end of the day. Room - great size but as it’s an old building only window was in bathroom and misted. Building is old and full of character though and we love smaller hotels (35 rooms) so a very quiet hotel). Location - quiet location except for food centre across the road which has live music in the evenings but stops at 1130pm so was fine. I’m a light sleeper ?. Would stay again!! Malaysian hotels all have firm beds - sorry hard!

Stayed over the Christmas/ New Year holiday. Impressed with the impeccable service and friendliness of the staff. The room is extremely spacious with high ceiling. Really love the hotel vibe, decor, interior and exterior. Since our room is in the front of the hotel (right at the check in counter, near the entrance), it was too noisy for us even at night. You can hear people walking in and out and also noise from the room on top of my room. I really like everything about the hotel but I'm a light-sleeper and I need my quiet night to sleep well :(

The staff were superb and the location was great. The rooms were not cleaned properly and the sound proofing for my room was atrocious.

This is a truly unique hotel in a great location. The exterior and interior of the hotel is beautiful and really well maintained. The staff are super friendly and helpful (they provided some excellent recommendations for us in terms of local vegan restaurants and places to visit). The rooms are a good size and the beds are large and comfortable. We didn't use the pool area, but it looked like a really nice place to relax. Can't really think of anything to put here to be honest. If you're staying in Penang, this place is where you should be staying.

great conversion of an historical building - we liked the ‘kitchen’ styled dining room very social space to eat and have a drink at night - nice happy hour idea to provide guests wine and nibbles between 6 and 7. Staff are all brilliant always ready to have a chat - good knowledge of George Town sites and restaurants - would definitely return. our room was just beside reception and near the pool which was ok but i think i would request an upstairs room if i returned just to make the stay perfect !
