OYO 89809 Sogor Girls Dormitory Female Only

I would give this place more than 10 stars if I could. The manager, CP, really leads from the heart. She wants to make your stay the best from the moment you arrive until you leave, even on her days off! The place itself is very nice and super clean, the dorms beds are spacious, you have the option to wash and hang your clothes for RM5, everyone is super respectful of you and your stuff, there are restaurants and marts very near (1 min walk). I would 100% go back if i'm ever back in Georgetown. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Even though I came as a solo backpacker, I never felt alone. I ended up meeting two amazing foreigners during my stay, and we connected instantly. The environment is clean, hygienic, and very well maintained. The washrooms are spotless, the laundry area is convenient, and the public space is super comfortable—perfect for relaxing or chatting with other travelers. This hostel gave me not only a safe and comfy place to stay, but also meaningful memories and new friendships. I highly recommend it to any solo female traveler out there. I’d easily rate it 10/10! It would be great if the hostel could add a makeup mirror in the public area or near the front table for convenience. Also, I hope they can consider upgrading to a more powerful hair dryer—the current one really tested my patience (haha!). Just a few small touches that could make an already amazing stay even better.

Pretty much everything. The location, the accommodation, the cleanliness, all of it. The only thing I can think of is the fact that “quiet hours” are not that reinforced. Either that or the other backpackers don’t respect it fully.

The pod-style beds get a little hot, even with AC in the room.

Amazing facilities—especially the free washer/dryer with room to hang and steam your clothes! Staff was quite friendly and nice too and gave great recommendations. Was very quiet most of the day with lights off. Not a problem for me but wasn’t the most social during the time I was there. Also a bit far from the downtown as other reviews mentioned but grab taxis are readily available and very cheap in Georgetown so it was not an issue at all!

Everything is great. Staff also gave great advise about food, sightseeing and souvenir.

Lovely stay, great facilities and lovely staff, 100% recommend

After weeks of traveling, Sogor Dorm was a perfect place to rest, recollect, and reorganize myself. It’s strange to say, but it’s been the closest thing to home I’ve experienced while on the road. Everything felt clean, comfortable - simply easy. I had the perfect amount of my own space and never felt cramped. Bathroom/showers were great, and the opportunity to do my own laundry with both a dryer and space to hang felt downright luxurious. I wouldn’t call Sogor a large hostel in size or guests, but it never felt small. It’s designed well, with high ceilings and a dressing room. I easily met and explored a bit of Georgetown with all sorts of female travelers. CP, Sogor’s Manager, was also very kind and helpful. She gave me a few great recommendations on what to see and I’m glad I took her advice. She was also responsive on WhatsApp and rescued me when I did manage to lock my keycard /inside/ locker on my final night. Thank you, CP! The only thing less than perfect is Sogor’s location. It’s slightly outside of central Georgetown but it was never an issue for me.

It’s very clean and comfortable and love that it’s female only. Also very big and spacious. Tip based laundry with an area to hang clothes is a big plus!!There were a lot of other solo travelers and because the beds are all in one area it’s very easy to meet others and more social than I expected it to be. The owner is so sweet and comes by during the day to clean. Would highly recommend staying here if you’re a budget traveler and don’t want to stay at the other party hostels offered on Hostelworld. It’s not located on backpacker row so it’s like a 30 min walk to downtown. I ended up using grab all the time because it was so cheap though. The beds at the end near the bathroom have to deal with the bright light and noise of the bathroom when other guests are up late at night. The air con/fan also doesn’t reach the end as well and WiFi isn’t as good the further away you are from the entry room. Nonetheless I was still comfortable and turned down the temperature more so that it was cooler in the evening when I was sleeping.

An all female hostel! This place is incredibly clean, wonderfully maintained and private. Everyone was so friendly and the staff really fosters a sense of belonging The distance from downtown Georgetown is about a 30min walk.

This was a cute, quiet place to stay and meet other female travelers. The manager Miss Tan was so kind! Facilities were exceptionally clean and it was a good location. I would go back again.
