Augsburg Hotel Sonnenhof

The location. The refrigerator didn’t work and they said would fix it but didn’t. Not told that to clean room we needed to tell them at check in. Had to pay in advance. When cleaned room on 2nd night didn’t empty trash can. Staff was not friendly.

Nice and clean hotel on quiet area

Good hotel. Location is not exiting. There was an issue with digital check in. Had to make a call. 5-10 minutes later a person came in and checked us in. Breakfast on the top floor was good. There options for sitting on the terrace. The views from the top kept us there for a while. No issues with parking. There plenty of space. The room furniture and decor was a bit worn out. But everything was functional. We didn’t have any issues with beds or noise.

The breakfast is very expensive... for 2 people breakfast is 42 euro. That is robbery for that variety. It should be Maximum 12 euro per person. I've stayed in hotel where breakfast was 16 euro each and we received Champagne... Don't change 5 star price for 3 star breakfast.

An outstanding experience! The hotel is beautiful, very clean, and well-appointed. The price is quite reasonable. Breakfast was included, with excellent choices, served in a lovely dining area with indoor and outdoor tables and a brilliant view. While the hotel is in a business area of Augsburg, and near the highway, the thick walls and doors keep everything very quiet. We also had a lovely balcony. Air-conditioning and elevators are so greatly appreciated, as some of our guesthouses in Germany and Austria had neither. The hotel is convenient to eateries and shopping. The staff is charming and efficient! Between my meager Deutsch and their good English, check-in (and out) was a breeze. Keep doing what you're doing, Reiner Bauch and Staff!! Perfektion! Vielen Dank! We loved our stay! One of us would have preferred a thicker pillow option.

It is close to an industrial area and a highway. Lower floors do not have much to see. The hotel restaurant was closed so it was not easy to have a decent meal after certain hours on a Saturday.

- checked in, opened the room, was greeted with a strong smell of disgusting perfume. went back to the reception and asked for a room without the perfume smell. "all rooms are treated with this, we cannot offer you an alternative". left, booked another hotel. they insist to keep my money and refuse to refund due to "booking.com", while booking said they would be fine with a refund. incoherent reasoning and zero customer centric attitude. they seemed personally involved and got mad and loud when i calmly asked about the perfume. completely unprofessional, have to go the legal route now to get my money back. annoying as hell. reception on some "street level" power trip.

Great location for my weekend

Comfortable, quiet rooms in a modern hotel. Great breakfast buffet. Parking outside hotel. Location in an industrial estate on outskirts of city. Quiet but distance from any attractions. Restaurant closed the night I was staying there and there are limited options for eating out nearby.

Nice and clean hotel. Staff was friendly and the chef even brought my eggs to the table that was really an extra service. We were not told that room service has to be requested for so our room was not cleaned. Breakfast was ok but not too much variety. Location was a bit outside of the town so you need a car. No overnight staff for any emergency you need to call the emergency number so foreigners need to speak or understand German.
