Original and authentic experience. Historic property. Provided water bottles in the room for free. There was no milk for the coffee (minor).

Prachtige locatie in centrum Gent! Pas enkele uren op voorhand geboekt, maar geen probleem. Eén van de warmste nachten van het jaar, maar de dame aan de receptie heeft moeite gedaan een ventilator te brengen. Het ontbijt - in de tuin - was erg uitgebreid

Very authentic environment for a decent price
-
very very noisy, lots of reconstructions outside that start from 5 am

Good location! The floor. It was noisy

Overall our stay was great, it appears the facilities were recently remodeled because everything is in such great shape, breakfast was great, the staff was very friendly, great location, etc.

Large room & bathroom recently renovated in a lovely historical building. Air conditioning. Friendly, competent & professional staff. On site parking. Within 10 mn walk from downtown. Great breakfast. Lovely garden bar.

- for us the location was a must. We were lucky to have a room on the ground floor, as we were travelling with big pieces of luggage - the special character of the hotel (old convent) - very spacious room and bathroom

I liked the kitchenette, separated room from the main group of rooms. Easy walking distance to bakery, grocery and old town. Quiet neighborhood seemed safe. Having a bar on the property. A restaurant on the property.

Confortable and well located, so perfect to discover the city. Nice clean rooms and basic amenities. Nothing fancy, but works. Signs are confusing, and one guy in the reception was not very friendly, but the other was. In general I would say that looks with more charm than what really offers, but quality price is correct.

Converted convent. Loved this place!!! The buffet for breakfast was absolutely amazing. Very convenient to walk all over. I highly recommend. Not a thing.

This was an amazing experience— the property is a former nunnery and so beautifully maintained. And yet the rooms are updated and modern. And the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. And Ghent was great. So glad we stayed in Ghent and took the train for day trip to Bruges—which was great to see but very touristy. Whereas Ghent was so interesting and real and had the most stunning churches and towers and history and restaurants. Nothing. Everything was great.

My wife's earrings were stolen from the room.

The building is beautiful and interesting. Room is clean and bed is very comfortable. Breakfast area is super cute. Everything was very nice. Be aware some rooms are reached by stairs only.

Very convenient location. Great atmosphere and nice room.
-
Location and the church setting. 4 beds with 2 being accessible by stairs for kids made it exciting

Location was very good. Lovely historic building The car parking charge of 35 Euros was high Breakfast cost 25 Euros each and it was the worst breakfast I have encountered in a hotel. The chafing dishes had not been switched on and the eggs, sausages were ice cold. They turned them on when I informed them. I cannot believe 1.5 hours into service, no-one else had complained. If you want a drink in the bar at night, you have to go fetch the staff from reception. Rooms had no information in them about the city, but very clear on what you will be charged if you take a towel, cushion or plant

This is my fourth stay. I am so in love with this hotel I wish I could live there. I especially love the Slot wing with its antique flavor. The wood floor, the old furniture, the tall windows, the portraits of the nuns, even small things like the old-fashioned key and the smell of antique wood. I hope you never, ever change it, as I was worried when I heard there were renovations. There's a lovely chapel that has been repurposed as an events room. It is a treasure of historical art with its sculptures and stain-glass windows. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful. There is nothing I didn't like. We had some internet hiccups, but they were fixed and the beautiful room was worth the trouble. One small suggestion: I notice you don't have beans every day for breakfast, but they are delicious and a great alternative for vegetarians. I enjoyed them on the days you had them. And thank you for the gluten-free bread!
