Rumah Kundun

The host is super friendly, speaks English very well, and is very modern and open minded. She was always helping me and giving recommendations about where to eat and helping with any questions I had. I would happily stay here again. The location is also very quiet and peaceful.

I loved my stay at Rumah Kundun. The room was quiet and very comfortable, and you have free water refill. The wifi worked great, and no bugs in the bathroom (which was common in the places I stayed in the Gilis) Kade and the staff were lovely and very kind. Would definitely come back!

The most outstanding aspect, besides the cleanliness and care of the place, is the warm welcome from Kate, the host. She always greets you with a smile and is always available to help and provide information about the island. Highly recommended!

We had such an incredible time at Rumah Kundun! The property is beautiful and so peaceful. The host is so helpful with everything guests need, and always gives the best deals on the whole island for things like boat rides, snorkeling trips, breakfast, etc. You will feel right at home under her care! Just so you know, the shower does not have hot water. It’s okay though because the weather is hot and a cooler shower feels refreshing.

The owner and all of the staff are super friendly and kind. Owner adds a special value since she really takes care of her guests personally. If you need any advice for trips, transport or food recommendations for a good price, don’t be afraid to ask. Location is good, since the island is very small and it’s easy going anywhere with a bike. The place also offers free water refill, bike rental and has a good laundry place just next to it. Special value is also other staff since there is always someone around if you need anything. At the end we wished that we would have stayed longer, since we will miss the place and the people. Room is very basic, but is spacious in general so that didn't bother us. There isn't hot water, but it isn't really needed. The smell of the towels were a bit smelly, but we got new ones, when we asked so there is nothing negative.

Kade is a wonderful host, she assisted with booking a snorkeling tour, reserving transportation and provided many great recommendations. The place is close to the port. And it is very affordable.

It is run by mother and son pair and they were helpful. They arranged boat tickets to Semaya One and laundry. They had a drinking water dispenser outside at really good price. Almost everything else. Rooms were hot and didn't have any cross ventilation. Also no air-conditioning and the ceiling fan was not working. The standing fan had to be kept on high which made it loud. The lights were dim giving overall dingy feeling to room and bathroom. Shower had only room temperature water and no hot water. The pressure of shower is very very low. Toilet flush had some contraptions to ensure it stops flushing. There was no drinking water in room. They could have given at least one litre for free and made rest paid. The boat booking was at prices higher than what is on 12go or street. I'd understand higher prices if it was corporate hotel but family run one earning 20% commission of booking value could have done it at flat price. WiFi was pretty weak too.

A nice beakfast is served on your patio every morning. Although it's on the party end of the beach it's far enough away to be very quiet. It feels a lot like a homestay actually. And the patio is large and great for reading, eating, chilling and drying your wet stuff. Only one thing I didn't enjoy was the sweet flowery room spray that filled my room when I entered the first time.. It was a little overwhelming and artificial. But after a short time it dissipated. Also I would love to see some warmer lights there. The room is lit with florescent bulbs which are a little unpleasant for me.

The location of the property is perfect! Kade and her staff are amazing and accommodating. The homestay radiates such positive energy and it’s because of the care and love that Kade and her team puts into it. Kade helped us organize a bike rental, snorkeling trip, and our boat back to lombok. She even provided us with free snorkeling gear so we can see the sea turtles at turtle beach and not have to pay to rent anything! The room is very clean and the breakfast is very yummy!! Overall, i would recommend!! This has been one of the best homestays we have stayed at while in Indonesia. nothing, everything was perfect

The water pressure was very very low lol but otherwise everything else was great
