Good location with car park across the street. 1) Booking.com advertised this property as “recently refurbished”, which is past tense implying the work has been completed. This is wrong as the refurbishment work is still underway and the birdcage lift had only started operating the previous day!!! We were on the third floor this would have been a major issue, as I’m in my 70’s and awaiting a knee replacement!!! 2) In the first room we had there were no coat hangers or rail to hang them on. 3) The staff were vacuuming wood shaving off the carpet when we arrived at the room! 4) Condensation poured out of the air conditioner during the night, leaving the back of the couch soaked and pools of water on the floor. 5) Fresh foods (yogurt and smoked salmon) at breakfast were sitting out in the open, i.e. not chilled in any way.

Very good rooms, very stylish.

Decor was nice The amount of noise. Both from outside as the double glazing was poor. And inside with constant banging doors. The restaurant was pretentious also.

nearly renovated, minimalist and clean hotel. right across from Qparking which is very handy. the restaurant downstairs celentanos is amazing for dinner. felt quite basic for the price. walls & windows are very thin so quite noisy. our room was right next to the corridor door which was very harsh closing and loud waking us up both mornings.

Smart renovation and friendly staff. Small room, though upgrades.

Beautiful building, thoughtfully restored. Great design. We loved the lift. Comfy bed. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location. It felt like this could be an excellent hotel but the fact it was recently opened did show. We couldn’t access any tv channels and were told we would need to do it via our phone. The bar wasn’t yet open but the staff member on duty kindly gave us two complementary bottles of beer. There were little details in the room which meant it felt unfinished - caps missing from the radiator, the painting of the radiator didn’t seem to have been finished, the cold symbol was missing from the bath tap. These aren’t huge things but they do make a difference to the overall impression.

Staff were really friendly, inside of the hotel was very nice, especially the lift. Room was basic but nice. Nothing major. A few minor things as constructive feedback. A lot of noise at night from people outside and the windows didn't really block any of it, TV had some weird cast thing and was a proper faff. Cheap instant coffee and toiletries were in the wrong bottle (moisturiser was filled with soap). No dim/lower lighting either and the light switches were oddly laid out (bathroom switch by the main door which is fine for some rooms but some rooms had the bathroom opposite the door you come in from.

Stylish and great location. Room quite small and could hear doors banging at night as other guests came back. Hotel were aware of this and think were planning to sort this issue.

The property was nicely refurbished, clean, comfortable, and in a good location. The staff were also helpful and responsive to our requests. The property lacked the basic services and amenities that one would reasonably expect from a hotel. There were no slippers, toothbrushes, or even bottled water in the room, and we had to specifically request these basic items. The breakfast was particularly disappointing and well below what we expected. The quality and selection were not satisfactory, and we ended up having breakfast elsewhere.

Location was amazing and decorated to a great spec. The little artisanal chocolate and vermouth were a lovely touch. The recent refurb has left quite a pungent paint spell but I’m sure that will dissipate in time. The lift is currently out of commission but with a building and the mechanics very old you can’t expect perfection all the time.

We loved everything! The staff were so attentive and friendly;' the rooms were absolutely huge and so stylish (almost like an apartment); the lounge in the lobby was lux and inviting; breakfast was included; Oh... and I have to mention the central marble and wrought iron staircase that wraps around the beautifully restored original lift. There are bars and restaurants close by, and it is only a short walk to the city centre. The Arthouse didn't feel like your usual hotel stay. It was more boutique, intimate and exclusive feel without the exorbitant price tag. Nothing.

We really liked the location of the hotel and the staff were very polite and helpful. When we got there we were allocated a room on the top floor and then told that the lift was out of order. My colleague had mobility issues and struggled with the stairs. We found the restaurant prices very high in comparison to the rate of the room so opted to eat our evening meal at the neighbouring restaurant. We were unable to use the TV in the room as it was not tuned into any of the options available.

The hotel was very clean, the bed was very comfortable and the location was excellent. Fantastic old building in a great condition. The receptionist also provided some wonderful historic facts! The breakfast was quite limited for £17.50 each.
