Cappanar Cave Hotel

One of the best hotel rooms in my whole life. It has a jacuzzi and turkish hamman room. They offer amazing breakfast and Mr.Mehmet is very hospitable guy who runs a unique hotel. Glad we choose Cappanar for our Cappadocia experience. However, I recommend you rent a car during your stay because Nar city is far from other Cappadocian cities. Make sure to bring cash, their POS doesn’t accept international cards

The hotel is far way from Goreme, people who want to explore Cappadocia should avoid this hotel

Far away from restaurants, shopping and activities

to arrive the location is quite complicated if you don’t hire a private transportation.

Bathroom was beautiful and spacious, bed was comfortable. The breakfast was tasty and the area was quiet and safe. The location is quite far from the tourist hub, so we had trouble with transport. Take note as well that you have to pay at the hotel instead of beforehand on booking.com (even though you have to put in card details), so we were off to a bad start because we didn't realize and the host got quite frustrated with us. The staff didn't clean the room once, even though we stayed 4 nights. No tea/ coffee refills or fresh towels, and we ran out of toilet paper by day 3. The breakfast only starts at 9 am, and even though it was nice, we also missed it twice because most tour pickups are before 9.

The beds were comfortable The rooms were noisy; the walls seemed incredibly thin, allowing noises from neighbors (ie, doors closing, people in hallway, tv, showers, toilets) to infiltrate the room. Also, the terrace was above our bedroom, so you could hear people moving chairs around, cooking etc right above, starting early as breakfast was served there in the mornings. Also, the location is very far from everything worth seeing in the region. Taxis are very expensive (even just for a 15 minute drive) when you can even get one. The closest edible restaurant was about a 20 minute walk from the hotel (which I strongly recommend—called Nora Garden—delicious!!). Finally, this is advertised as a cave hotel but it is not a cave hotel at all.

The building itself is absolutely amazing. Gorgeous, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The location is not too close to the main attractions, but if you have a car it's comfortable to go anywhere, and it's very quiet compared to cities like Göreme and Uçisar. Breakfast is not a random buffet - it's made fresh and tastes amazing. Every morning we were looking forward to the great Turkish cuisine. No one in the family except for the owner speaks English but they always made an effort to communicate (via translators and gestures). This is a place with great potential, and it would've been my first 10/10 review if it weren't for the terrible service and the constant false advertisement. It's good for a BnB, but it tries to say it's a hotel, which it's definitely not. The owner is dishonest and the advertisement is completely false. He also severely lacks in communication. They state the Deluxe Suite With Spa Bath with has three beds (double bed, twin bed, sofa bed) in many different points of the listing. The room in fact only has one double bed and a sofa, no sofa bed or twin bed. It also doesn't have a separate bedroom and living, unlike what was advertised. They state there is daily housekeeping. We didn't see housekeeping once, and there was no way to request cleaning or DnD. We had to ask for more toilet paper because we ran out since they didn't restock. There is tea that you can only drink once, because they won't change your cup. No change of bedsheets, which was uncomfortable because I was sick. They state they have a restaurant. They do not, they only offer breakfast (no choice of what) and when we asked about dinner, they just sent us out in town with a recommendation. They state one of the rooms has a garden view - it doesn't, the room's doors and windows all open inside the building itself. In the "Deluxe Suite with Spa Bath" room, the bathtub (main point of advertising) leaked and completely flooded the bathroom on day one. They didn't send anyone to clean or offer anything - we had to ask for a mop to clean up the flooding ourselves due to their own defective equipment. They said they'd send someone the next day, then didn't contact us at all, until we asked about it in the afternoon. Said they'd come in the evening and ghosted us again until we asked. They said it'd be the next morning, and they also ghosted us with no communication. We told them not to bother anymore, because our stay was almost over, and they still came in the room on the very last afternoon without any warning, and walked in while my parents were sleeping and undressed. No apologies, no forewarning. No explanations.

The place is absolutely amazing from the luxurious rooms to the delicious breakfast. It's only 15 mins from Goreme and was super peaceful. Our room was the highlight. I booked this place for our honeymoon and it didn't disappoint. We made use of the hot tub and the hamam which was in our room! This hotel is truly amazing with great facilities and a great family who run the business.

We liked everything with this hotel. It was clean, budget friendly and also soo comfortable. The host was too kind and he helped us with the tour bookings, ATV, Balloon rides as well.. we are so satisfied for staying in this hotel.

The staff was friendly and even though most of them speak limited English, they were always available and willing to help. The facilities were clean and well maintained. Breakfast was delicious every morning, and the ladies in the kitchen were absolutely lovely. The location wasn’t ideal — it’s far from the main center with restaurants and stores, and there’s not much to do within walking distance of the hotel. While Mahmed was helpful in organizing our activities, we had a frustrating experience with a balloon ride. There was a misunderstanding about the details of the tour, and we felt somewhat pressured to book something we didn’t fully understand. The cancellation and refund policy wasn’t clearly explained, and unfortunately, we missed out on a ride that was very important to us. We left very frustrated. Also the other tour he arranged us was very nice, but the guide was not the best, did not have a lot of information of the history of things.

Great attention and the host knows all the places to go, things to do, and he arranges things for you Location is a little far away from main places of interest. Also they could improve their language skills

Great calm place, excellent service, friendly hosts and TOP breakfast.

Everything about the hotel and the staff and the local people is amazing. Very helpful people across the town of NAR. Location is quite far from major tourist attraction, otherwise it's a superbbbb hotel with amazing staff. Thanks a lot Mehmet and family for taking such a good care.
