Location was good We didn't like being unable to gain access to the property when we returned at 10.30pm. Everywhere was in darkness and all doors were locked. We tried the keys we had been given, and still couldn't get in. We rang, and could hear the phone ringing inside, but no one answered. We knocked so loudly on the doors but no one answered. What were 2 ladies 'of a certain age' supposed to do? We rang the police non- emergency number. The police also rang a number they had, but no one answered. They advised us to find another hotel, as it was now around 11pm. On walking from the hotel, we saw another door. My key still didn't open this door, but luckily, my friend's key did. It was a nightmare and very scary to be locked outside. This was on a Thursday night in May.

We had asked for a date change due to a family issue, which was accepted over the phone with no issues. Was contacted on the night that we were due to originally arrive to ask when we were checking in, and told them we had moved it "oh, yes i can see that" was the reply. We then received an email on the way to the hotel to say our stay was being cancelled and we won't be receiving a refund. When we contacted them again, they said that they could see our request to change the date but it hadn't been confirmed at their end and now they had no rooms! After much upset on our part, they managed switched us to a hotel in Ulverston, which was vastly inferior.

The porthole room was ment to be a superior room the wallpaper has just been done but the corner of the room ceiling was black with mould an paper hanging off. There was a gap between the shower and the bathroom flooring where water was dripping through attention to detail. Breakfast set menu the glasses were lipstick stained the juice was just in cartons butter and jam portions just on table no plate not very attentive for refill of coffee only one member of staff serving all dining room quite a disappointing stay had to exit via bar where an overpowering smell of bleach not very present had to be let out when checking out

Nice pub/ hotel. Asked the young girl behind the bar if they did breakfast, she said "no ,don't know why we dont" then we put the key in the check out box and then realised people were having breakfast!! Couldn't get back in the pub, cause it didn't open its front doors till opening time. Could have done with a long mirror on the wall.

The sea view and the location. Not having a car park that belonged to the Commodore.

    Very poor

Location was just perfect, minutes away from the Railway Station and Bus Stop. Fabulous views from the Room overlooking the bay and the sunrises were stunning. Just a few steps away from the Promenade which is outstanding the flower beds are stunning, and tended by volunteers just brilliant. Great independent shops and cafes and restaurants. The Ornamental Gardens are beautiful as is The Community Orchard. The Commodore Inn is a great place to stay, rooms are comfortable with a cosy bed and very clean, the staff were very helpful and friendly to. Great Place to stay, perfect to Reset and Relax away from hustle and bustle. Just one small problem the lack of a hairdryer being available for guests to use.

    Superb

It was disgustingly dirty, with a nicotine stained staircase which was wonky, narrow, reduced head height and dangerous. As I have a balance problem this was totally unsuitable for me, there was no mention on the Inn's description of this. I left on the day I arrived! I asked for a refund and the bar lady said she'd try but I've heard nothing. It forced me to book alternative accommodation, at my cost!

    Good location Nothing

View was fantastic, situated in a nice location surrounded by a small town. The bed wasn't comfortable I'd rather had sleept on a park bench. Shower didn't work. Tv not working only selected channels worked. No iron or ironing board like it said on booking. Bedding was covered in hairs. Staff swearing when went to the bar( to there friends) while customers was waiting. No wardrobe like it says on booking. Electric sockets not fitted to wall correctly. Damp patches on ceiling like if they've got a leak. Could of done with a fridge in room to store cold drinks ect. Says room service yet you have to go down stairs and get it yourself. Really disappointed, won't be back. Avoid at all costs.

Breakfast and service was excellent. Perhaps thicker bread for the toast. Our room had a bad leak through the ceiling, the curtains were too heavy for their rail, and the tie backs had come out of the wall. I didn’t like that despite asking for a table to be reserved this did not happen. We arrived in the bar to find one table with a reserved sign so we sat there and checked with a member of staff if it was ours and he said yes. Then a different member

Lovely position and good facilities My room was very cold and I asked about the heating and told it was on a timer and it never came on from 18.00 onwards and there was no hot water out of the sink in the morning, ran it for more than 10 minutes and it didn’t even get slightly warm.
