Gretna Chase Hotel’s bar serves a range of dishes, with a menu displaying Scottish and international inspiration. There are curries, pastas, steaks and fish, and a tempting choice of desserts from the sweet trolley. Very good

I found the bed uncomfortable and pillows flat. I need total darkness to sleep, however, my room, no 11, had a glass panel above the door and unfortunately the corridor light was on ALL night and I hardly slept at all! On a positive, the food was nice and served by a very pleasant young man.

Thoughtful service, check backs and dinner meals in the evening of Saturday was very good indeed. Went down for breakfast supposedly set for 07.30. Cooked breakfast buffet did not start to arrive until 07.50. The advertised Continental Breakfast (my wife's choice) did not materialise at all (at least in the time we had). The requested brown toast never arrived. Impossible to get the attention of server who was too busy attending to loud mouthed people in dressing gowns at next table. No Check backs. And unable to get replacement for now cold tea. Appalling service and way to start a very long busy day. Will never stay there again.

Great staff and attention. Nice peaceful location with plenty of parking and nice garden grounds. Bedroom was a good size and very well equipped. Comfortable bed too. Had that old world feel with a more modern approach. I never had a main meal or breakfast so cannot comment on the menu or quality of food, however I did have the tomato soup in the evening. It was the best I've tasted. Lovely, and the draught cider was excellent too. The bathroom was adequate but could do with just a little tlc. On the positive note, there was plenty of hot water.

The welcome was warm and efficient. All relevant information was given. The room was spacious, well equipped and clean. The meals were very good as was the service.

Amazing poached eggs and the bacon was very good. Bathroom door handle poorly repaired using odd screws and remained loose … Leatherman tool to the rescue. Low level of lighting in the bedroom.

The staff here are really helpful and friendly - excellent breakfast. The interior decor would benefit from being updated.

Very good location, Gretna s good destination⁹ Bathroom needed a couple of repairs

The room was very airy and spacey with all mod cons. Dinner and Breakfast had a good choice of food and was well cooked. Although sited at the edge of Gretna, the property had a nice rural feeling and was well kept - with a nice courtyard. I requested a downstairs twin bed room, but for some reason none were available.
