The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was more than I expected. The only negative was the pool area. The water in the hot tub and pool did not look clear and it had a funny smell. It wasn’t horrible, but did make us question our choice to get in.

The first morning breakfast was advertised to end at 9:30. We were there at 8:15. A family of 5 was ahead of us in line and there wasn’t anything in the hot breakfast area except for two sausage patties and a handful of potatoes. My husband asked if other things were being restocked. The worker replied with a solid,”NO!” We checked in with the front desk and miraculously things started to be restocked. Several people after us left the breakfast area because there was nothing ‘hot’ available. The rooms were clean but could have used a deep clean. We tend to stay at this chain and this is by far the worst HIE we have stayed at.

The check in staff was good. Our room smelled odd after entering. The toilet wouldn’t flush. When my husband went to front desk he was handed a plunger and gloves! That didn’t work so after going back to the front desk we were given another room and told that someone flushed a rubber duck. In the new room that was right next to the dinging elevator when I went to use plastic cup for water it had used toothbrush head in it! We will never stay at Holiday Inn Express again!
