I like this hotel because it's very clean and comfortable and the value is good for what your getting.
-
Super close to malecón / good price - they let us do early check in and late check out for an acceptable amount of money Room without window - but still decent

Very spacious and clean rooms, the spa was a great addition! Hot water and comfortable bed. I would definitely stay here again.

Reserved a small single bedroom and ended up with a large room with three beds at no extra cost. This was idiosyncratic, but worked to my advantage. Staff was very friendly and capable. Hot water, problem on one occasion, but otherwise good showering.

The location close to the waterfront was good I specifically booked a room with a spa and the jets didnt work, the water was barely warm. The sheets and towels were not very clean, but we only had a short stay, so we just accepted it as is. I wouldnt stay here again or recommend to anyone

This is a hotel that has obviously been a busy and vaunted higher class hotel in its past The hallway furnishings are pleasant, and on the 7th floor where my room was located is also the closed restaurant, and another sitting area with art and couches and chairs and open windows. Guests are quiet, reserved and polite. Like humans, everything has its peak and it's decline. The rooms are clean, the a/c works, hot water and daily room service. It is a basic accommodation done with a still respectful staff that carry themselves with class, but not arrogance or entitlement. Come and go as you wish. If you need assistance, just ask. 1 block to the Malecon, short walks (20 min or less) to museums, the gondola across the river, to major bus routes get to country-wide busses to explore other parts of Ecuador. If you are a night life person, it appears this area pretty much is closed up tight by 7pm, except a few restaurants. So if night life is what you seek, this is not a good location. This hotel is clean, basic, safe, and reputable.

That it is close to malecon and the little market. This hotel is a rundown property. The first room was destroyed. The second room looks good for faraway pictures but it was nasty smelling. You can smell the other guest going restroom because maintenance took out the light fixture and replaced it with a plastic grill and a simple lightbulb to cover the 2ft x 2ft hole. The room also stinks of mold. The cleaning staff is overloaded with rooms to clean. One cleaning staff if under 20 rooms and a second one is called if over 20. But they also act as concierge, as cooks, and many other things. So cleaning the room is changing the sheets, and then they use a rag with a hole in the middle to clean the toilet, then rinse in the sink to clean the sink and then they put that rag over the broom (reason for hole in the middle) to mop the shower floor and the room and bathroom floor. There was a shit stain on the shower wall since before I arrived and they finally cleaned it because I pointed it out on day 15th of my stay. I am glad I didnt pay for the breakfasts- for $3USD; they give you one fried egg, a small piece of cheese and a piece of fried platain. The kitchen is very dirty and there are even rats about 8in long (body- not including tail) rooming around. The water for guests to drink gets filled from the tap. One of the guys at the desk allowed visitor to enter without calling first. The other guy told visitor about me leaving in the middle of the night. There were guests drinking in the hallways and being loud and nothing was done about it. And they have an agreement with booking.com that includes the taxes but they charge you the taxes on top of the booking.com price. And one of the elevators gets stuck because the sensors are not right (which they know about and tell you to just play with the door). This place has bad management and they dont follow any health or safety rules. And the area in which it is located is dangerous. You see lots of cops in the morning but at night time only a patrol car every now and then.

I don't really wear anything. I didn't like it at all, the rooms are not what they seem Deteriorated in all aspects, beds, floor, bathrooms, it had a terrible musty smell, you couldn't sleep. I would not choose that hotel again for a bad experience.
