The Joint hakuba - Hostel

The Joint Hakuba was an amazing place to stay, and I couldn’t recommend it enough, especially as a solo traveller. It’s very easy to meet people here, with a great mix of chill and party vibes. While there aren’t organised events, it was super easy to meet people in the dorms and common areas and head out together for food and drinks. The staff were absolutely amazing, super friendly, welcoming, and easy to chat with. They were also really helpful with transport advice, food recommendations, and suggestions for places to ride and visit around Hakuba. The dorms were really nice and well set up. The beds were super comfortable, with plenty of storage under the bunks and privacy curtains, which was a great touch. Everything was very clean and well-maintained. The bathrooms and showers were modern, spacious, and spotless. The common area was also very clean and cosy, and the fireplace at night was a highlight. The location is excellent, super close to Echoland main street with heaps of food and drink options nearby. It’s also very close to multiple bus stops that make getting to all the resorts easy. There’s a short walk to both 7-Eleven and Lawson, a short walk to the main town, and plenty of rental shops close by. Despite being so close to the main street, it was quiet at night and easy to sleep. It wasn’t overcrowded, and the rooms were warm with heaters in both the dorms and common areas. The Joint is perfect for solo travellers, first-timers to Hakuba, and anyone looking for a social stay in a super convenient location. I’d 100% stay here again. The only small downsides were that the Wi-Fi downstairs in the dorm area was a bit spotty and difficult to connect to at times, and it would be great if there was some lighting under the bunks to make it easier to see your belongings in the dark.

We rented a room w personal toilet not shared that's why it was so nice. Staff is so chill and respectful Maybe the warm storage of jackets, boots and helmet, it gets smelly but for the function it's ok

Great location for dinner/nightlife. Comfy beds. Overall very clean. Parking. Breakfast was minimalist, but better than nothing. A small fridge in the room would be nice.

Staff are nice. Place are clean. Everything is so nice.

Great location. Log fire. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Jake went straight out and bought new hairdryers when I reported one wasn’t working ? Eggs for breakfast would have been lovely. A better option for storing our clothes in the room. Clear the ice/ snow off the back stairs as it was tricky to navigate the steps to access the skis/drying room

Beds were comfy n warm. Open space lounge with communal tables and sofas made it a very welcoming place. Breakfast was simple and tasty. Good selection of pastries, muffins, toast, cheese, yoghurt and fruit. A mini oven, microwave, kettle with tea and coffee available in the lounge made the place more comfortable; like a home away from home. Staff were always friendly. The pick up service from the Hakuba St on check in day was very appreciated!! The Joint is also very centrally located to a convenience store, and all the buses that pass Echoland. Loved the place, would stay again without a doubt.

Amazing breakfast, very friendly helpful and accomodating staff, location and dorm was excellent. Exceeded all expectations and would definitely recommend staying here.

Perfect all round. Loved the stay. Clean tidy warm. Friendly kind staff. Nice fire morning and night. Good breakfast. Excellent location just off the main echoland road. Close to bus stops (important for skiers).

Superb

The staff were amazing, super friendly and helpful. The accommodation was cozy and I was always comfortable. The other guests were great to be around. We will be coming back when we visit Hakuba again. The only improvement I could recommend is a second washing machine but that is trivial.

No fuss, easy access to a bus stop and local stores and venues. Staff were friendly and helpful. A little more storage in the room would have been great but it wasn’t an issue at all. Maybe some more wall hooks.

The host could have made the guests experience a lot better with interactions every morning and night.

Exceptional

The joint Echoland Hakuba is very central to all dining bars and food… Also very close to Hoppoone.. I myself walked there when there’s a free shuttle bus.. Very beautiful the Japanese Alps!! Love Hakuba.. Nothing really for me to complain about!! The guests in my 6 bed dorm said there was a snorer in the dorm, whom was relocated to another room. Im 46 and shared the dorm with a lot of young kids in there 20’s and the never woke me up after they had drinks with there friends.. Very respectful..

Great Location, easy to get buses to mountains. Staff were friendly and they even had a Nintendo switch for us to play!! Also had a dry room for all your gear
