Property is in a great location and very clean. The private onsen you can reserve was so nice to have. Very cute spot and the owners really made it wonderful! They took the time to make sure we had everything we needed and even helped make sure we could get where we needed to go during and at the end of the trip. We really appreciated them!

The place is wonderful to stay for visiting Hakuba snowboarding sites. It locates in the main street, which is easy to get to restaurants and snow buses. The place is cozy, clean with a snow gear room and onsen. The owner is easygoing and passionate to make visitors feel at home.

Takao and his wife were amazing. They made our stay very comfortable and provided all the info we needed on the area. They went out of their way to help us. Nothing

Lastly, Takao-San and his wife are incredibly warm and friendly people that made this one of our best stays in Japan. Takao-San drove us to and from the JR station and helped us with our bulky baggage and skis. You can tell from his energy that he is really passionate about providing good service for his guests. We were especially heartened on the last day when his wife even came out of the property to bid us farewell and send us off! True hospitality like this really made this establishment stand out. Highly recommended! It was perfect! Except the price was a bit on the high side probably due to weekend booking during ski season and we booked at the last minute. I'm sure there are better deals if you book earlier.

The hosts of Hotel Soyokaze are so friendly and caring about the guests. I would stay again for them alone! The hotel is right in the centre of Echoland in Hakuba Valley, a minute from the free shuttle bus to various skiing options, the ski hire places, and restaurants. We did not have a car so this place being so central was great for us. We were in a triple room which was an excellent size for our family. We chose to pay for breakfast most days, and it was very good. Would definitely recommend this place.

The proprietors of the establishment went out of their way to make us feel special, from the first moment to the last. Their breakfast was varied, well priced and delicious. The onsen was beautiful. The room was spacious enough for 3 people. And above all of that was the location. You couldn't get a more convenient location for ski rental, shuttle buses, restaurants and bars.

We had the absolute delight of staying at Hotel Soyokaze for our snowboarding trip in January. Our earlier accomodation hosts in Nagano knew Takao and his wife personally and spoke so highly of them - they are incredibly hospitable and make the hotel so homely, you look forward to coming back at the end of each day! They cook a banging breakfast, but it is continental rather than a traditional Japanese fish and rice set (which we would have preferred) - I would recommend booking that in early as there are limited numbers. There is an amazing private onsen that opens into the courtyard (beautiful in the snow), a huge, warm fireplace to enjoy an Asahi around and a drying room downstairs for your gear. The location in Echoland is arguably the best you could ask for - it is central to all of the restaurants and shops and a shuttle to the slopes stops within 100m. I can’t emphasise how generous, hard working and kind both Takao and his wife are - they cared for my very minor snowboarding injury, picked us up/drove us to the bus station and around Hakuba village and always had time to sit down around the fire to have a chat. We will stay with them next time we visit Hakuba for sure!

Hotel Soyokaze felt like a home away from home. We loved everything about this hotel, especially Taka (owner) and his wife. Taka was so helpful and really made our stay so great. We really appreciate how Taka went above and beyond in helping us out with getting to and from the bus terminal, day passes for the resorts, and just being the most happy helpful host ever! The private onsen was amazing. The drying room with the laundry facilities was really great. The hotel decor felt so cosy and homely, we loved it and it was a nice change from the modern hotels. Everything was so clean and well looked after. We had everything we needed in our spacious room. Thanks again for everything Taka! Nothing! Everything was perfect.

The hosting couple were incredibly lovely and accommodating to us during our stay. Takao picked us up from the train station when we arrived and also dropped us off when it was time for us to leave. The room had its own bathroom, mini fridge, desk, coffee table, couch and plenty of space for luggage. There was also a storage room for snowboards and a laundry which you could pay 100 yen to use each time. Very generous price in my opinion and we were happy we had easy access to washing machines and dryers. The hotel also has its own private onsen which was incredible! We used it everyday after snowboarding. A perfect location too right in the heart of Echoland with bus stops and a wide range of restaurants surrounding. Would definitely stay there again.

My stay at Hotel Soyokaze was truly wonderful! Located in Echoland, the hotel is surrounded by restaurants, bars, and a convenience store, making it super convenient. Plus, the free shuttle bus to Hakuba’s top ski resorts is just a 1-minute walk away (some stops are about 3 minutes), making it incredibly easy to hit the slopes. One of the best surprises was the room—it looked even better than in the photos! Clean, cozy, spacious room, and well-maintained, it was a perfect retreat after a long day in the snow. The private onsen was another highlight, which you can book at your preferred time—a perfect way to relax after a long day in the snow. They also offer discounted ski lift passes, which is a great bonus for skiers and snowboarders. But what really made my stay exceptional was Taka’s hospitality. He was incredibly kind, helpful, and attentive, making sure everything was smooth from start to finish. His pick-up and drop-off service was a lifesaver, and he even helped carry my heavy luggage to my room and onto the car—something that not every hotel would do. His warm and welcoming nature truly made me feel at home, and his dedication to making guests comfortable is beyond impressive. If you're looking for a hotel with great location, excellent facilities, and outstanding hospitality, Hotel Soyokaze is the perfect choice. I would absolutely stay here again!

Having the "onsen" hot pool was great to ease out my muscles after each days skiing. Takao san was very hospitable and accommodating. Breakfast availability was great so you could hit the slopes without having to sort that out. The location was very handy to the restaurants in Echoland and bus stops to reach the skifields. Takoa san picked me up from the station and dropped me off when I left. Very minor grumble but I was not a big fan of the powdered green tea supplied in the room - but it was okay.

Taka and his wife were lovely and extremely helpful hosts. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and assist with any questions that we had - whether it be lift tickets, ski hire or buses. The facilities were immaculate and the private onsen (in the snow) was great to share as a couple. One of the best places we have ever stayed. Location in the heart of Echoland was convenient for getting to all of Hakuba’s resorts. Thank you Taka!

Taka is an amazing host. He organised cheap ski passes and all hire for us. Transfer to the bus was a great bonus. Taka really cares about his guests and the rooms are very clean and neat. Private onsen is amazing and value for money. Location is excellent for skiing with the bus right out the door to the mountains.
-
Everything!! The private onsen was the game changer. Right next door to the main strip of Echoland and ski resort shuttles Nothing.

The property was in Echoland; an excellent location being next to Lion Ski Rental, Jaja Supermarket & many delicious restaurants nearby. Takao and his wife were wonderful hosts; extremely friendly, welcoming and always smiling. Takao speaks English and was so kind to take us from and to the train station. The hotel itself feels like a country Japanese home with beautiful and classy decor. There is a fireplace. There is also a private onsen (book once a day) that guests can use with washing facilities - wonderful!! The breakfasts were superb. Each breakfast was home-cooked - delicious omelette with sausage/bacon, bread and jam, cereal and milk, juice, yoghurt, salad, fruit and tea. A nutritious and protein-packed breakfast that will prepare you for a day of skiing/snowboarding. The room was big!! Bed was really comfortable. Toilet had everything we needed. Beautiful cute room!! I love everything about Hotel Soyokaze. We felt like special guests staying in someone’s home. Thank you so much, Takao & wife. Staying here was a highlight for my partner and I in Japan. We will always cherish our special experience here. Nothing.
