is a good option if you're just looking for a place to sleep. It's a basic hostel with nothing fancy, but it delivers exactly what it promises. The location in St. Pauli is convenient, with good public transport nearby. I also liked that each guest gets a locker inside the room to keep their belongings safe. There was a rather noisy group of young people in the next room, but that’s not the hostel’s fault.

This Hostel delivers exactly what it promises: a simple place to sleep. Don't expect anything luxurious or fancy; it's a basic hostel that serves its purpose well if you just need somewhere to spend the night. The location is a big plus. It's in St. Pauli, and there's a bus line nearby that takes you to the city center quickly, making it easy to get around Hamburg. One feature I really appreciated was that each guest gets a locker inside the room. It's large enough to store your belongings securely, which gave me peace of mind while exploring the city. You have to make the bed on arrival by yourself

Before coming I was honestly quite anxious and reserved after having read the reviews regarding all Hamburg hostels, since they were really mixed, like from really bad to really good. However after my trip Im not sure why the negative reviews for St. Pauli's. Yes, maybe it is more on the basic side but it is clean and comfortable, the room I was in was spacious, there are big lockers, toilets with all the supplies, even a hairdryer. It is in a residential area and even though there are many coffeeshops and bars nearby, still they are not close enough to be affected by the noise thereof. There is also a spacious well equipped kitchen if you need to cook or just store your food. And the price is more than reasonable, taking into account how expensive Hamburg is, being one of the most expensive cities in Germany. So for everyone on the budget, this hostel is more than a great deal. I've been to many hostels and hotels and this one is actually cleaner and more comfortable than many of them. Just read the rules, respect the rules, have a reality check and you'll have more than a pleasant stay. It is more about the common sense of your fellow roommates on how to behave in a setting like this than the hostel itself. Ill never understand why it is so difficult to quietly close the door instead of letting it slam every single time you come and go, it is really beyond me :))))))

Everything was clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Price was very good for the service provided. No towel provided for shower but easily bought one for cheap at a nearby store, fair enough to not include towels when offering such cheap stays.

location was a big far from big things but it was good value so thats reasonable

Everything was fine!

Very clean, very nice staff, the bar is also great The only issue is that it’s a little bit of walk from the train station and the main street

Friendly staff, good location. Decent 7 bed room with private bathroom. To sleep for 1 night I think it is ok, 2 nights it was too much for me, I didn't have a good sleep overall. I appreciated having warm water at the sink in the bathroom. The cleanliness was not very impressive, not even soap was in the bathroom even though there was a soap dispenser but it was empty, When you arrive you have the beds assigned, you can't modify anything on this matter. The room was kinda smelly. There aren't outlets at every bed, so if you need to charge your phone during the night and don't have one at your bed you can't. The colleagues were very noisy but this isn't the property's fault. Some lockers are near the beds and this affected my sleep when roommates opened and closed them continuously very early in the morning.

The staff were super friendly and nice. Nothing

I liked that there was a common toilet in the basement, so that I could go there if I returned late not to disturb the others in my room.
-
One particular receptionist was extremely rude and needs a lesson in basic manners and hospitality.
-
The hostel was great, however its small and lacks a lot of amenities like laundry that are common in most hostels
-
Offer a room for less people. The location is nice I left in the morning and when I came back at night there were new people and the shower was clogged
-
Their location. The place smelled like humidity everywhere, the shower and common kitchen weren’t properly cleaned and the windows can’t be fully opened (during summer that’s especially important). So it was very hot inside.

No common area except for cafe.

Amazing hostel! The location is incredible — right in the heart of St. Pauli, with plenty of cool spots, bars, and local life just around the corner. Still, it’s super calm and quiet at night, which made it perfect for resting. Everything was spotless and very well maintained. The vibe is relaxed, and the staff were kind and helpful. I’d definitely come back!
