Howard Johnson by Wyndham Hershey

Location was good. That’s the only positive thing was there. I was unable to get on the wi-fi when j asked the staff for help she told me to read the paper that she gave me I followed the instructions on the paper and still was unable to log in

The staff was great. The hotel needs a lot of upgrades and the breakfast was not very good. Not a lot of variety. The hotel itself had a musty smell. The location is going as it is near everything.

Everyone I talk to could not get on the Internet, the girl tried what she could do phones don’t work even call the office. Hotel is run down. There’s a door outside that is missing that goes into two hotel room. dated furniture very tiny rooms. There’s a fee if there’s a stain on a towel which I’ve never heard tiny TV with hardly any channels. They said no pets allowed. I don’t think a pet would want to stay here. We pay for two days did not stay. The second day stayed at Days Inn which is much better but had to pay an extra $200 for the trip.

Air-conditioning was not working properly in the room dirty towels and bathroom had a really bad smell

The property was clean but seemed dated. The free breakfast was minimal and not much. Staff was helpful and responsive.

The room did not look as expected it was basically a outdated room with outdated furniture ,with a dumpster for a view ,Not at all nice , staff was unfriendly .

Pool was clean and great. The clerk at check in was fantastic and helpful. However, the person in the late evening (pretty sure the owner) was extremely rude. We returned to the property around midnight to find that neither key would work to open the room. I found an employee in the front office and kindly explained the situation. The employee (100% certain it was the owner) began to blame us for slamming the door and said “you probably slammed the door and broke the lock, if so we’re charging you. I’ll let you in right now only” Walked with him to the room, where he plugged something into the locked and shut it off (Honestly seemed like the battery died). He then Reiterated to us several times “you slammed the door and broke it” Place was great. That employee needs training on customer service and should learn not to be such a jerk to people who would’ve been returning guests, if not for that interaction.

Breakfast was stale bagels and dry cereal. No ventilation in the bathroom - mold smell.

It was nice

This is a motel and should be priced and marketed as a motel. The only redeeming quality of this motel was the poor employee who was clearly working alone for the whole property. She was being called non-stop. The property is in need of updates. There is an EXTREME security risk in anyone can open the doors and have access to the doors in the building connected to the lobby. Our sheets had to be changed because of hair and stains. Wyndham clearly handed over money and should be embarrassed to have their name associated with this property. Next weekend they are charging $400/night and one room left. How they are not hiring more and upgrading this property for that rate is insane. Also, there’s not a breakfast. Stop promoting that there is. I cannot believe I paid what other HOTELS were charging and ended up with this.

Cleanliness Room needed repairs !! Needed to be updated

Could not find staff whenever you needed them even when you picked up the phone and dial zero in the office still couldn’t find them. Breakfast included was warm milk cereal that was stale in the dispensers with only a little bit in it. Bagels with no cream cheese or butter. I had to go out for breakfast. Also, we noticed the smell that was like a dead mouse, but once again could not find staff..

The location is good. Close to all the attractions. The place is dated and could use some upgrades.

So part of this was my mistake. I booked two hotels. One of which i paid in full on line and the other which was this hotel I pressed pay at property. Not knowing I went to this one. After checking in and going to the room to figure out why what I remembered as the price and what I was given for a reciept were different, I realized my mistake and went back to the front desk and asked for a refund which was only about 10 minutes,also my pregnant wife could hardly sit on the toilet because the wall was too close. I was told that because I checked in that I could not get refunded at all. Not really knowing how to handle it we owned the mistake and went to the other hotel since the Howard Johnson would be uncomfortable for the 8 month pregnant wife. I know there are policys but I feel like we could have been accomidated in some way. Kinda set the tone for a not so fun weekend away 8 hours away from home.

The location was great. It was close to the baseball camp for my grandson as well as relatives and Hershey Park. The breakfast was not good. There was only cereal and instant oatmeal. My grandson had a bowl of cereal the first morning and the milk was sour. I notified the staff but we never ate there again. Also, the coffee was very weak.
